I am not real worried about the incision because I have stretch marks that have me scarred for life, but I ahve heard that having the surgery open you are more likely to get a hernia later at the top of the incension. Did this happen with you? Sheila

Sheila, Nope no hernia her. I know a lot of people who had open who are even 2 years out or more and they don't have hernias either. But you are right hernia's are common. But if you need a tummy tuck you can have one done when you get a hernia repaired and insurance will pay for hernia repair. So maybe there is a little positive in a hernia, .
