I got my date yesterday. It is coming faster that expected. I am so excited. So are my kids, of course they think mommy will come out of surgery skinny. If only it were that easy. My surgeon is Dr. Baker and the surgery will be open because I still have my gallbladder. I am a little disappointed, but I think it is for the best. So I don't have to go in down the road to have it removed, he will just do it during surgery. I am so blessed. It seems like my entire family is coming. God has put me in the perfect family. Sheila

You know I am just getting more and more confident in Dr. Baker's abilities. So you have had no problems? I will keep you in my prayers and pray that everything continues to go well. Sheila 8-l

I don't always agree with his decisions or rules, but his success rate is a testimony to the fact that they work. Don't bother to argue with him. LOL. The only two things that have driven me up a wall are having to wait 36 hours to get ice or even glycerin sticks for my lips, and having to leave the G tube in for a month (if you don't have sleep apnea, you won't have to deal with this one). It does not hurt, just annoys me. But I am doing amazingly well. I highly recommend the epidural for post op pain control. It was awesome! Made it SO easy to be up and walking. You've got a great support team--that will help too. All in all, you have a lot to be excited about!! Joy

Lucklily I do not have sleep apnea. I am hoping that since I will ahve someone at the hospital with me 24 hours a day. It will make it a little bit easier. My husband can go back and forth for me. I just know that Dr. Baker is going to make me cry. I am very sensitive when it come to me trying to lose weight. I have a feeling I will be doing more listening that talking. Thank you so much for you kind words and support. God Bless Sheila

YAY! Yay! YAY!! The date we've been waiting for! You realize chick-a-dee that that will almost be me 4 month anniversary of my date? I can't wait to see you next month and to spend the weekend with you before surgery. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait! Just in case someone else reads this and wonders, I am her cousin/sister. I post in here about a week or two ago about her tentative date of April 5th and asking how reliable that is since she hadn't had her consult date scheduled yet. I am so happy for you Sheila!!

Congratulations on getting your date Sheila! You will be amazed at how fast the time flies by and suddenly "poof", you're on the losing side. I don't know about Dr. Baker, but I definately agree with Joy about the epidural. I had mine until the day I left the hospital. I was up and around from the minute they would let me and I know that it was because of the epidural. It's excellent that your husband can stay with you. Mine has been my God send. It was so important to have him with me in the hospital to act as my advocate. I'm glad you'll have the same kind of support. Keep marking those days off on the calendar! Cheryl
