Benton Support Group???

I had WLS Dec 30 2003, and would love to get together with fellow pre or post op people. I have already lost 60 lbs and feel wonderful! Would anyone be interested in getting together or am I out of the loop and there is already a group going strong? HELP I want to share experiences and info with others. Wow! 60 lbs in less than 3 months! Congratulations! I live in Little Rock and the only support group I am a part of is this on-line one! (My March surgery date board is very active). Plus I have met a few of the Arkansas folks. The weather is glorious, isn't it? I feel blessed to be able to get outside and walk this time of year! Joy -20 lbs / 18 days

Jennifer, good for you! Dr. Kendrick in Springdale has started a support group at his office in the Jones Clinic next to the hospital. Call his office at 927-3100 to see what dates and time. Was gonna be Monday one week and Wednesday the next but call to make sure. At the last one I went to there about 40 people there - post ops, pre ops and family and friends of patients. Good luck! Jennifer, in this mornings paper Dr. Kendrick is having a support meeting tomorrow night at 6 to 8 in his office. I'd meet you there but I have a previous engagement. Give it a try. I think you will feel very comfortable and meet some who have had the surgery and some who like me are waiting. Glenn Springdale
