Trouble after eating

I am 12 days post Open RNY and regardless of what I attempt to eat on the soft diet, I tend to get a mild fever with abdominal tenderness especially on my right side. The surgical scar appears to be healing well and no pain associated with it. Anyone else experiencing or have experienced the same.

That does not sound normal to me. How long has it been doing this? Have you called your doctors office (I know, these things always happen on the weekend!) Do you still have a gall bladder? That is where you are feeling the tenderness... Joy

I totally agree with Joy Andy, you need to call your doctor. You could have a possible leak, or if your gall bladder wasn't removed with your surgery it could be that also. I sure wouldn't take any chances, especially with developing a fever as well, that would tend to indicate some infection. Don't put it off, call first thing tomorrow. Good luck!!!

Since my last post I have now been spitting up some blood but not in large quantity. I spoke with the doctor today and he did not consider it to be life threatening or anything but told me to call back tomorrow if it continued. He advised that it was too early to do an endoscopy to determine the problem.Needless to say, I am somewhat anxious about what is going on and not very reassured. My gallbladder was removed at the time of the bypass. I fear I may have an ulcer that was undetected prior to surgery and really don't know what the consequences of that would be. My post surgery follow up is not for 2 1/2 weeks. Anyone out there with similar type problems? Thanks for your responses.
