Had surgery on the 25th of Feb., got home Sat. feeling pretty good. But today I have the shakes and feeling a little uncertain! I have been drinking water, had some of a sugar free icecream bar. Today I had non sweetend applesauce and a little cream of wheat. I can't do that protein shakes yet. My doctor told me to give it a couple of days be I would have an appetite. But I am not sure why I have to shakes and feel so nervous. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Betty

Be sure you drink enough. Have you tried decaf tea or SF tang? Warm liquids might be better than cold for a while. Your body has been through a lot. The shakes are probably just a reaction to your body's realization that you aren't feeding it the high carbohydrate diet it is used to. This will pass, but don't let yourself get dehydrated. It will get better. Joy

Betty I had my surgery on the 25th also and im doing very well. Maybe you need to eat a little protien. I puree chicken with a little barbcue sauce, pork loin, and today i had ham and eggs. Maybe you need to play around with some other foods to see if this helps. I will be praying for you.
