The surgeon will have to deciede if he can do the surgery if your friend has a cold. My wife is having her surgery on march 8 also. She is very excited. She has had some of her pre op tests, but just found out she yested positive for the h pylori bacteria. She is going to the drug store today to get her antobiotics. I had that bacteria too. I had successful lap RNY on oct 1 03 and have lost 75 pounds so far. Good luck on your journey.

Tell her not to hide this from the doctor. A short postponment is not as bad as pneumonia! Coughing is tough post-op--just imagine sneezing! I hope she gets through it in time. I know she has to be stressing! Joy
