Drug ****tails

I have decided since I cant have the surgery I am going to go on a drug ****tail- Meridia and xenical. I responded well to Phen Fen and I hope this works for me too. Medicaid will pay for one of them and maybe both, I have an excellent pcp and she will do all that she can to help me with this. So thats where I am. Until laws change we will never be treated fairly.

Lisa, Please be careful with those drugs. You know they thought phen-phen was so great. And it did work for lots of folks. Made lots of folks deathly ill, too. Especially since you are wanting to have a baby. How long have you been trying to have a baby? Or have you been trying yet? Took me eight years for our first. I decided to get fertility drugs. Got them and was waiting on my period to start takeing them. Had to start them 5 days into my period. I never did start , I was pregnant! Good luck on the baby. And the weight loss.

It is true Phen fen was a terrible combo, I did have a lot of success after taking it for a year, and I was lucky I didnt get any heart damage. I have been trying to have a baby for 10 years on and off . When I was married to my first husband he cheated on me and gave me P I D. which can cause infertility. 5 years after that I had to have sugery to have some scar tissue removed from around my tubes and ovaries. That was in July and that following december I found out I was pregnant, although I just knew something wasnt right with that pregnancy so I insisted on an amnio, and they scheduled it for a friday, well... on the prior wednesday evening, I started spotting and lost the baby, so instead of getting an amnio I got a DNC. I have yet to be pregnant since then. It was shortly after that, that I started Phen-fen at 205 lbs.I trimmed down to 130 lbs and maintained it for 6 months after I quit the medication, after that I gained back 35 lbs. In 2001 I had a car accident which left my knee with torn ligaments and cartilage which I still have to this day, so needless to say exercise has been out of the question since. But tomorrow I go in for an MRI and then they will scedule me for either replacement or repair. I quit smoking just a year ago for 6 months and gained 60 lbs, so I started smoking again, and since then my weight had stabilized, I again quit smoking in December of last year and gained 25 lbs so far. I am desperate to lose weight and keep it off, and twice as desperate to have a child. So there is me in a nutshell, I saw my doctor today and she put me on Xenical which I started today at dinner. She will keep me on that for 6 months and if i havent had much success she will add meridia. But I feel that with my knee repaired and xenical I can finally lose the weight and hopefully keep it off. I will stay with this regiman for 1 year and the doctor says she thinks I will be close if not have reached my goal weight and then I can have another tissue removal surgery and hopefully be on my way to becoming a mother. I feel like this is the answer to my prayers. If it does not give me the desired results, I will have my 1 year supervised diet and then meet the guidelines for medicaid to pay for WLS. I do hope with all my heart that my doctor is right and this does work for me.
