Does Medicaid cover gastric bypass surgery????

the first time I was denied, they said it was because I did not have 12 consecutive months' documented weight loss attempt through my doctor. I got that, then was denied again because they said that I had a significant weight loss on my own in 1999 (actually I was very sick at that time with complications from a gall bladder surgery -- almost died, weight loss was from illness, once healthy, weight all returned plus more) I appealed that one, too, and was denied a third time for the same reason as stated above (supposed successful weight loss w/o WLS) whatever!! Anyway, I appealed again, and was turned down a fourth time, still based on the supposed weight loss from 1999, only now they were adding that I was too big of a risk for surgery because of prior complications. I had enough, and contacted the governor's office and threatened them with a lawyer. Then I got approval. Arkansas Rehab was very difficult for me to get approved by. I hope you have a better experience.
