Emma, Congratulations!!! The time will fly by now and soon the pounds will be coming off. I think the two most important things I took with me, were my pillow and some chapstick. You get so dry before they allow you any ice chips. I loved having my own pillow and it was useful to hold on the way home. I did have some reading material, but didn't use it much. If I didn't have visitors I tended to sleep. I hope everything goes as smoothly for you as it did for me. Take Care, Bobbi

Wow Emma, that's exciting! I'm 2 weeks behind you (3/1). I'm taking chap stick for dry lips, and socks (the slipper kind with non-slip soles for walking), and a robe (unless you like flashing everyone with those cute split up the rear hospital gowns ) What hospital are you going to? Joy

Emma, I had my surgery in Aug when it was very hot so I took a fan that was a lifesaver. The other essential is someone to stay with you. Sometimes the nurses are just too busy to mess with you. Vicki
