I had my surgery Dec. 1. I'm unable to tolerate meat of any kind. Even when I eat a small bit it causes me to hurt to the point I puke. Right now I'm living off of yogart, cottage cheese and soggy rice chex cereal. Does anyone else have this type of problem. The pain is just below my sternum and is just terrible. Does this eventually go away or should I go back to my doctor?

That sounds terrible! I would definitely talk to my doctor or dietician to see what they would suggest. Perhaps it is in the way you are preparing it or eating it. I know that at 7 weeks post op you are still healing. I hope this gets better for you.

Gary, I have the same problem at times...In fact, I just puked a few minutes ago after eating a chicken wing.........I've eaten one or two before today, but this was bad!! I don't know why, but some days I can eat things that I can't eat other days......I usually eat cheese, eggs, and shrimp........I have to be very, very careful with most meats..

Gary, I to had this problem. I couldn't tolerate any meat at all. First of all everything tasted so crapy. But I ate yougart and soup. Now I'm 4 months out and I eat meat just fine now. I hope you have the same luck. I've lost 124 Lbs in 4 months. Hugs Debbie Moya Good luck on the eating. P.S. I couldn't even tolerate protien shakes. Dr. Baker 9/22/03 354/230/147
