what's going on !
hey everyone, i am a little upset. i have not lost a lb. in 2 weeks. i don't know why. i either ride my bike or walk everyday, sometimes riding 10 miles a day. i go for my check-up today and so wanted to be under 200 by today, but that's not going to happen. i have lost 67 lbs. since september 30th, does anyone have any ideas why the weight loss has stopped? please let me know, thanks, amanda
Amanda maybe you are gaing muscle. You also may be losing inches too. At our support group in Batesville the doc and long term post ops said
DONT WEIGH DAILY. Weigh only weekly or monthy. If you are following the rules the weight will come off. You did not get fat overnight and you wont get thin overnight either.
Amanda, I know how you are feeling. I have been stuck at the same spot for 2 weeks now myself. I know folks will say plateaus happen and be patient and I know they are right. But when you can't eat that much and for me at less than 2 months out where I can't eat very much variety and most things seem to upset my stomach anyway, it sure would be nice to see the scales move a little. I started water aerobics this week and hope that will help some more. Like they say, we didn't gain the weight overnight so it's not going to come off overnight. How come knowing all of that and saying all it just doesn't really help. I want some more weight loss for all I am going through. I guess keep your chin up and know that others out there are suffering with you. So far I have lost 28 pounds and on the bright side, it's definitely better than gaining.
Take Care,
Bobbi
Hey Amanda, I am finally losing again. I just have to remember the patience. Since I last posted to you I have lost 3-4 pounds, I will weigh when I go to my water aerobics class tonight. They have a medical scale. My Dr is Gibbs. One of my co-workers today said I am even breathing better. That was pretty cool to hear, I got a couple of other positive comments too, so that keeps me going.
Take Care,
Bobbi
I completely understand about plateaus. My scales are also different from Dr Baker's. I go back on April 16 at 3:30. Hang in there girl. It will start to come off again. Try changing up your exercise routine or even stop for a couple of days. Stopping is how I got off my last plateau, but it was hard to get started exercising again. What a double-edged sword!
