If you have delicate eyes you should not read this message. This message is my opinion and not the opinion of this site or its creators. My chosen surgeon was Dr. Baker but he will not be anymore. After ******g me around, without any foreplay or lube, going through all of the mess getting approved by Rehab and then saying yes they will still do me because I am not a new patient that they will honor Rehab 12-22-03 I was informed today that rug burn is my new friend. As of 1-1-04 Dr. Baker is NO LONGER taking Rehab. Don't you just love that! He abuses Rehab, treats it like insurance and then because they get mad he dumps all that have done EVERYTHING except have the surgery at the last hour. He gets IRS cuts by working with Rehab and anyone that says he does it out of the goodness of his heart is nuts. Everyone says the hard part is over. You have rehab funding all you need to do is find a doctor. Like it is that ******g easy! There's the consult visit, I have to pay for again, the lab work I will probably have to pay for again since time has passed, the time and expense of travel, deciding if this surgeon knows what he is doing and will he do it the way I was going to have it done. I don't have to worry about 450+ lbs. killing me the stress will long before then. So mad, hurt, angry, pissed, ready to kill~~~~Angela

DONT GIVE UP> I used doc lambert in Batesville. I know he takes rehab. I know other docs in the state take rehab too. I tried to get an appointment with doc Baker and the office staff was rude. Doc Lamberts staff was very good. I was very high risk because I have heart failure and only about half my heart works. My cardiologist told me not to have surgery, he thought I would die on the table. Doc Lambert did lap roux en y and everything was ok. I had surgery 10-01-03 and have lost over 60 pounds. I feel lots better. Losiing the weight is the best medicine for my heart. I know it gets hard, my ins approved surgery with doc Hornbostel in Sedalia, MO, but the hospital would not accept my ins, so I changed to doc Lambert. I will pray for you.

I HAVEN'T POSTED AS OFTEN AS I SHOULD HAVE ON THIS SITE. BUT HERE GOES. IF ANYONE OUT THERE DESERVES AND NEEDS THIS SURGERY, IT IS MY BEST FRIEND ANGIE. SHE HAS BEEN THERE FOR ME THICK AND THIN. (EXCUSE THE UNINTENTIONAL PUN) SHE HAS BEEN MY SOUNDING BOARD WHEN I THOUGHT I HAD BLOWN ALL MY SOUNDING BOARDS DOWN. THIS HAS BEEN A JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME AND I WOULD UNDO ALL MY PROGRESS JUST TO GIVE HER THE CHANCE TO HAVE THIS DONE BY THE RIGHT PERSON. PLEASE, EVERYONE OUT THERE START A PRAYER CHAIN RIGHT NOW AND LETS GET SURGERY DONE FOR HER. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS MY FEELINGS FOR THIS WONDERFUL PERSON. SHE IS A ONE OF A KIND INDIVIDUAL WHO WOULD GO TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH FOR A FRIEND. THANK YOU, VERONICA MY FOLLOW UP WITH BAKER IS JAN 7TH AND I MAY NOT BE ASKED BACK AFTER THAT DAY!!!

Angela: I have been fighting insurance for almost a year now, so I can relate to your frustration. I have now decided to self-pay and am seeing Dr. Ozment. I, too, contacted Dr. Baker initally. However, I am much happier with Dr. Ozment and his staff. There have been so many times that I have wanted to give up. But, I've kept going and YOU CAN TOO! Don't give up, please!! Finding a new surgeon is a HUGE inconvience but the end result is worth it. You deserve this - keep going! ~*~Alice~*~

Angela. Did you try the surgeon in the same place as Dr. Baker. I think his name is Welborn. My friend used him and medicaid paid for her surgery. So you may not have to have any of your work redone if you can talk with Dr. Welborn and tell him everything. This is just an Idea. Isn't rehab. going to pay for your blood work. I went through rehab. And they paid for everything. Of course I also had my surgery done by Dr. Baker. and I understand you getting angery, I certainly would to. I went through a lot with rehab. to drive me nuts. Did you speek with Dr. Baker him self or one of the office ladies. Because the get a lot of crap mixed up. I'm not taking up for him because i don't quite understand everything. Hugs and good luck on the rest of your journey Debbie Moya

I want to thank everyone with their suggestions. The situation has been resolved. Becky in Dr. Baker's office made a major FUBAR! Christy and I got it all straightened out....again thank you and god bless to all. Angela
