Went to the seminar with Dr. Gibbs

Well I went to the seminar (after chickening out of the one last month) It was very informative. I submited all of my paperwork and will hopefully hear something in a couple of weeks. I think my BMI is to high to have lap so I might be stuck having an open surgery Anyone have any advice??? Tish

Tish: I have selected Dr. Ozment as my surgeon and I will be having Open RNY. The OPEN was my choice. I know there are advantages and disadvantages to both procedures. I just felt like the Open was right for me. Good luck in your journey! Alice

I think I actally prefer the open, but I have 2 small kids and can't afford that much recovery time. I would love to hear from you after your surgery and find out how it went Tish

tish, hey my name is amanda and i'm from gurdon, i had my surgery on 9-30-03 and i had an open ryn. i went back to work 10 days later, so the down time depends on you and how you feel. i pretty much have a sit down job. merry christmas, amanda- dr. baker open-ryn
