Hi All, I was wondering if folks that had their surgery done lap could tell me the earliest they went back to work and how they felt when they did. I am six days out and feel I will go stir crazy if I have to wait until after my appt on the 23. Dr. Gibbs said full activity after two weeks, which would be before my appt. I am thinking about calling later in the week or early next week and see if it would be alright to at least go back part time, but I don't want to rush things either. Any advice would be great. Thanks, Bobbi

Everyone is different, of course, but I went back full time on post op day 10 (my 2 week checkup was on day 15).....Carrie was very nice when I called her about a document releasing me back to work. I would not rush things.....

Bobbi, I went back to work at day 10. I had a very uneventful surgery, went home the next day. I work as an Occupational Nurse, which is pretty sedentary. (At times). I did great. Go with what your body tells you. If you have to do any standing, walking, lifting, etc., I would start off slow, working part-time. Let your doctor know (or his nurse), you would like to go back to work, and what you'll be doing. He'll probably let you. Best Wishes, Nita.
