weight loss past the first month!
Hey guy's, I'm going through the same thing. IT is driving me nut's. Monday I'll be 8 week's post-op and it is going very, Very slow. I'm back at work and working non stop. I walk alot at work, I don't have time to take a break. Plus I'm drinking water alot and watching what I eat, But it is coming off so slow.
So don't feel alone. Hugs Debbie
Amanda, I lost 37 the first month, 15 the second month, 13 the third month, etc. I am a slow loser. I lost bunches and bunches of inches even when the scales didn't move. I nearly went nuts checking the scales every day! I quit doing that, weighed only about once a month, but measured weekly. It is very gratifying to see those inches mount up and up. Don't get depressed. The weight will come off. It has to. Keep your chin up Nita
I see your BMI was 43. I imagine you, like me, are considered to be a lightweight. Lightweight folks tend to lose slower. We don't have as much to lose as those who need to lose 250+ lbs. It took me from August 2002 to around April 2003 to just get to an "overweight BMI" instead of Obese and Severe Obese. It takes a while Amanda. Its not automatic or overnight, but it does happen. I did everything right, a protein drink every single day for 5-6 months, at least 64 ounces of water, all the right vitamins, etc. I still lost slow. But guess what? I haven't lost any hair and I'm 52 and won't have to have plastic surgery for loose skin. I honestly think that losing slow helps your skin regain its elasticity. (So does drinking lots and lots of water. The skin needs plenty of water to stay healthy.) I stopped losing very much at all around my one year anniversary. I seem to be toning now, wearing- depending on the maker, anywhere from a 10 to a 14. Down from a 24/26.
I know your frustration, believe me. Reading about all the folks who lose 100 lbs in 2 months, etc., is very disheartening. You will lose, thats a given, it will just take a little while.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Nita
