Stephanie, for me it was about a 2 week plateau. I think our bodies have to take time to catch up. Plus, I also think if you don't eat enough food, that your body will go into starvation mode and will just hang on to the fat. But don't worry, your body will catch up. I've lost 135 pounds in 13 months. Just stick with the eating plan your doctor has given you. Try to get in as much protein as possible.--Shelly

Stephanie, I think all of us go through what you have. I think the body is trying to adjust to its new, "plumbing". You will catch up on down the road, so don't get disheartened. I for one, have been hungry since I woke up in the Recovery Room. I never got a break from hunger. We are all different, but still, all the same. Hang in there! Nita

Okay Stephanie, Don't you give up girl! I know it can get to be a let down sometimes. But it is true the heavier you are the faster the first pounds come off. After that we all are the same in a way. See I really started at 354 Lbs. I lost down to 323 Lbs before surgery. And now I'm down to 278 Lbs. And of course now it is slowing down. Hugs DebDeb

Girl that's 20 Lbs. You used to carrie around with you all the time. Just think of it that way. And I know what you mean. I've got my share I was teasing to. And I still teas. Just remember I weighted way more than you did to start with. And like I said the heavier you are the easier the first few pounds come off easy then after that it get's harder. like now mine is coming off slower. I also am about to start period so there you go. Well I will let you go for now. Hugs Debbie Moya

Hi Stephanie! I am so glad that you posted your question because I have been going through the same thing. I lost 25 lbs. 3 weeks post op, I am now 9 weeks post-op and I am retaining quite a bit of water and now I have gained 8 lbs. I am doing everything that the doctor has told me, my body is stubborn I suppose. I went to see my doctor yesterday and he cut back on some of my meals in order to get the weight loss started again. But he assured me that I would lose the weight, and I believe him in spite of what is going on now. So, I will continue to drink lots of water, eat the right foods, and get out there and walk everyday. Be encouraged, we are ALL going to reach our goals. Take care and God bless! -Tandra
