Question About Hairloss

I am concerned about possible hairloss, mainly because I have very fine hair to begin with. My doctor says that if I eat the 60 gr. of protein a day I shouldn't lose any hair. Can anyone please share their experience and what they know about this? Thank you, -Tandra

Tandra, My sister had the surgery 18 months ago and has fine hair also. She was required to get 70 grams of protein and still had hair loss. Yes, it didn't look very good for awhile, but she would still do it over again.

Tandra, there may not be anything that you can do about hair loss. From my research, it appears that some people have a problem with it and other's do not. GNC has a product that is specifically for hair and nails. It has 2500 mg of Biotin and also has Zinc and other vitamins/minerals that promote hair and nail growth. You may want to try it. On the bright side, it does appear to be a temporary problem and the hair grows back. Good luck.

Tandra, I had surgery a year ago this month. I started losing hair at about 6 months out. Luckily, I have a lot of hair. Some people don't have much hair loss and then others do. I would just try to get in all my protein and try taking a vitamin for hair. That might help. Although, most people say that it didn't help them. But, it could help with the regrowth. Good luck!--Shelly
