I need help!!
My husband works at whirlpool in Fort Smith and we have United health care and they hav an exclusion for wls. Has anyone out there dealt with them before? I'm ready to try anything at this point.Even getting insurance outside of whirlpool for awhile!!I'm going to use Robert Janes in Fort Smithif I can get an approvel.
I haven't used them but I know Arkansas Rehab. Will help. It your BMI is 55 or over and If you have comorbilities. It has to be serious comorbilities. And they help you even if your working. But there is a lot of stuff to do. Like Dr. Reffering you for gastric surgery and your diet history and proof you were under Dr. care for a year on a diet. and alot more. there was a post I replied to befor. That would explain everything. but I can't remember which person I replied to .
Good Luck Debbie
Hello Janet ,
I have united heath care and my plan is select plus something and my handbook says that it is a exculsions or limitations but unless diagnois of morbid obesity I had Dr Baker send a letter to see if they would approve it .
I am going to check on it tomorrow it has been there a week,
It wouldnt hurt to just see.

I have the United HealthCare Select POS and they paid for all of my procedure. I do, however, have heart disease as well, so they may have viewed this procedure as a cheaper alternative to having to continue to pay for my angioplasties/stents.
It's worth finding out if comoribities (such as sleep apnea, heart disease, hypertension, etc) would qualify you.
