blue cross/ blue shield of alabama

hi everyone my name is amanda, i am hoping anyone with this insurance that has been approved, could let me know if they are hard to deal with. they will be getting my paperwork in a couple of days. thanks amanda

Amanda- Hi. I have BCBS of AL also. I got approval in less than 2 wks. It was really easy...no extra paper work needed or tests. The 2nd week I call them every day until finally one day the lady said they had sent the letter out & I was approved. My wls date is 8/15/03.......hope your road to approval is EASY!!! Hi Amanda. Yes, it has to be medically necessary to be covered. I had my doctor write a letter of medical necessity & filled out the paperwork from the wls doctor & that was it. I do not have high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.........nothing----Just FAT! Good luck! God Bless, Melissa
