Good morning Crewbies!

It's funny how my eating life has changes in 3 1/2 years. Gary's gone for 5 days, so I went to the store to stock up on "my" food. Before WLS it would be a few pints of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream, and all sorts of crap. Last night I brought home cauliflower, brussel sprouts and pickled beets to go with my grilled chicken thighs.

Here's my day so far.

latte

protein coffee

Eggo LF WW waffle w/ pb and 2 thin slices bacon

s-?

l--crustless calzone

s--?

d-- grilled chicken thigh, sauteed cabbage w/ noodles, 2 pickled beets

s-???

Tell me, how has your grocery list changed since your journey began?

Susan

Before surgery we never looked at the labels, and just threw whatever we wanted in the buggy at the store.  Now we pretty much know what I can and can't have, and what I can and can't tolerate but can eat.  Robbie is really good with helping me shop, since he knows about how much pre pound meats should be and whether we are getting a good deal or not.
We used to buy the cheap hamburger meat but even now with us being so broke, not even the cheap stuff being on sale will get us to buy it.  It's just not worth it.

Also we buy more veggies frozen in a bag, as opposed to in cans.  We buy less noodle sides and more rice-like sides.  I like how you can get brown rise in different flavors, like broccoli and cheese or southwest chipotle.

Overall I would say we pay much much more attention to everything we get, oh and we avoid the chip/snack aisle completely, LOL
