Is it normal to feel depressed? I should feel super happy. Dr. said everything went perfectly. I am in an incredible amount of pain and everytime I start to think about what I should be eating or how much of whatever I should drink I start to cry.... I have read and read and read and talked and thought I was as ready as could be.... but holy crud I can't seem to get a grip on this....  (P.S. I had RNY)

Are you home already?

Yes, the "weepies" are very normal, mostly due to the medication they give you for anesthesia. You also have a TON of hormonal changes going on from the fat breaking down (see, that should be good news).

Take a deep breath, take your pain meds, and sip. You're going to be fine, please relax.

Thanks Susan. That helped a lot. I was wondering what the heck I was crying for when the best thing ever just happened to me.

I left the dietician thinking things were gonna be one way and then the nurse sent me home a different way... I  no clue when to start my protein shakes again, I feel like I have heartburn and am living on broth and ice chips cause I can't seem to stomach anything else. I keep telling myself it has only been one day and it will get better... but today is just one big old pitty party!
