Hi...
Hi. My name is Nicole. I had VSG in Mexico last year. I have been doing pretty good until school started again (I am a teacher) and since then I just haven't done well.
I need to get exercise in, water in and eat a lot better.
Can anyone give me some menu ideas that are quick and easy? I don't consume art. sweeteners, so sometimes it makes things difficult.
Tricks for getting exercise in?
I am also in grad school, have a hubby and two kids and have a medical condition that makes my muscles very sore/great fatigue. Hopefully with med switch last week, I will see some major difference in energy level this next week.
Well, thinking about going on the 5 day carb reducing diet thing for vsg that someone gave me a link to. I think it might help me get back on track. I really need to get the last 20 off and tone up a lot!
Thanks.
Oh---I am looking for a Text Buddy....I have unlimited text (att) and would love someone to be my buddy and keep me accountable and I can help them do the same.
Just let me know and I can IM you my number.
Thanks.

Take into consideration that I'm not a nutritionist, but starting a higher protein diet sounds like the way to go. But diet all you want, if you don't exersize your metabolism will just slow down to whatever calories you're taking in and you won't lose weight at all! Going back on a shake a day that you can drink at school and keeping a bottle of water on your desk sounds like a good plan, too. Set a goal for how much liquid intake you're going to drink for that day and stick with it. :)
I am queen of soups right now since I'm 2 weeks post op. My favorite thing to do is get the bags of soup mixes from the grocery store (any brand will do, but I like Bear Creek and this other one that comes in a tan and brown colored bag that I can't remember the name of right now....) I end up "doctoring" them with Cavenders, seasoning salt, and sometimes hot sauce....always more veggies and meat and I ALWAYS cook them longer than necessary so they'll thicken up more. This might not work for you, but this is what I eat on a daily basis, literally. I just started adding back chicken and beef, but you can make them without and it'll just be more broth like. This might work well for you if you are not able to eat very much. The ones I make are very protien rich and thick so they don't just slip through your pouch.
Swimming or Yoga might be good "toning" exersizes for you to look into. I know I was doing Yoga before my surgery and it firmed up my midsection significantly. I had less back pain and also noticed I had more energy. It's very slow and methodical and poses can be worked towards so you can work at your own pace. Swimming is a non-weight bearing activity so it's good for your joints and muscles.
I'm open to being a "text buddy" if you're interested. I have att, also. (501)944-6640 (anyone is free to text, I don't mind)
