My mom.
I don't have long, but I wanted to stop in to tell everybody. (I didn't ask my mom if I could say anything, but I don't figure she'll mind one way or another.)
They found what felt like a mass in her through a couple of weeks ago. (Our gynocologist found it of all people. His exams are obviously very complete.) The GYN referred her to get it ultrasounded. They did that.
Her & my dad were on vacation this week and they came back today. The DR office had called with the ultrasound results and they want to see her back in the office tomorrow. I'm not really sure what they want to do next or even really what it is.
For all of you out there losing weight... this is another reason why carrying around extra weight can be deadly. Who knows how long she has had that lump? When lumps or masses are covered up with layers of fat, they are harder (if not impossible) to find. It is no wonder that more obese people DIE of cancers, etc?
Sometimes when the weight comes off, it reveals things that were underneath. Those things aren't always wonderful.
My great grandma died of throat cancer. Please keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers for those of you that do that sort of thing. I'm worried so I'm trying not to even think about it. Maybe posting this will help me get it out of my mind enough to sleep tonight.

Thanks y'all. My mom had an appointment this morning where she had to take an iodine pill. Tomorrow she goes back for them to take a look at it because the iodine will have lit up everything by then (or whatever it does to make it visible).
My mom said today that she read that 50% of people have a mass in their throats at some point in their lives, so that's encouraging.
I'll let y'all know.
