Hey guys, on day 5 of this liquid diet thing and let me tell you, it may make a huge difference in my weight, but its a pain in my backside.  I have had to eat a light dinner every evening b/c of the shakes and irritiability factor.  I do feel less bloated and maybe even have lost some weight, but I'll be glad when I can go back to chewing my protien instead of drinking it!!!  Im going the first of next month (after payday) to buy some Herbal Life protein shakes for supplement, (ok'd by Addie)  They have over 100 flavors, so maybe I can find something I wont get tired of.

Im off to teach wonderful lil second grade babies today, cant wait.  Subbing for a wonderful personal friend today, so Im excited!!!  Everyone have  a great day!!

Tam,
I was doing OK, not great, but OK, and then today hit!!! I worked today, didnt have anything here to grab for lunch and they called on short notice.  I dont eat cafeteria food at all, full of carbs and starch and crap!!!! Its a shame what they feed our kids!!! EWWWWW

Soooo, today, I had coffee, coffee, and more coffee until 3:30.  Notice, NO food until almost the evening.  BAD idea I know.  Im paying for it now b/c all I want to do is eat, I guess my body is craving the calories it missed today.

Monday is a new day, and we will conquer this evil demon one step at a time!!!

Be careful tomorrow, have fun and let me know how it all goes when you get home.

Love you chicky,
Rhonda D.

Hey Susan,
Soooooo sorry for not letting you know what he said.  I have been extremely busy and every time I sit down to think about calling you, its too late.

OK, I go back in 6 weeks, I can stop wearing the brace as long as I am wearing boots (which is daily attire) and in 6 weeks we will see if the ankle is still rolling when I am barefooted.  If so, then we will schedule surgery.  He gave me the go ahead to start walking and working out again, but I cannot walk out here in the sticks.  Have to walk on the treadmill and work out on flat surface.  The fracture is almost healed completely, and so I am doing well there.  He lowered my pain pills and said to take them at night just to help me rest.

Sorry again I havent responded, I have been extremely busy!! Life is good, but very very busy

Love you girl,
Rhonda D.

I think maybe I need to go back to the beginning, back to basics, and see if I can jumpstart my weightloss again.  I need to retrain my brain, again.  I can't start this week or next cause my Dad is coming from San Diego to visit us.  We only get to see him twice a year.  So we will be doing a lot of activities and we usually go out to eat atleast once to a very nice restaurant during the week he is here.  So it would be a bad time, and an excuse for me to do what I do best...procrastinate, LOL.

Actually it would really be a bad week.  But I am going to make it my goal to do it in October.  I get the emails from Kay, she does the Five Day Pouch Test emails and has lots of great recipes for all stages and such, so I need to go and check out her site, haven't been there in a few months.  And see how this 5 day test works exactly.

I would like to say how proud I am on how your doing.  What exactly are Herbal Life protein shakes?  How are they different from other shakes?  100 flavors, something I need to try out.  I am so tired of chocolate and vanilla (the ones I get from wal mart but they are only 13 bucks for a big canister).

I always wanted to be a teacher, it was my dream since I was 13.  Before that I wanted to be an astronaut, even went to magnet schools that specialized in space exploration or space sciences.  But when I was in the 5th grade we went to the Reuben H Fleet Space Center (Susan knows what this is, in San Diego, big museum with a giant onmimax theater) and they did a planetarium like thing on the screen, which is this big screen all around you and above you.  Then they did a movie where it was like you were in space, and when they showed the earth from above I got so scared.  It was the first time I realized we weren't as big as we thought we were.  So I decided to be a teacher.  And in 9th grade I started taking japanese lessons and decided I wanted to teach english to kindergarten and 1st graders.  If we hadn't of moved after the 10th grade I would have been fluent and had a chance to be an exchange student in tokyo and I wanted to go to college at the Uni of Tokyo.

My son speaks Japanese fluently so if you want some conversation just call him. I think they are going to Japan in February. Anyway so what's stopping you from pursing the teaching thing. They really have a shortage of GOOD teachers.

Hi mamapeaches.  I can't speak japanese anymore.  I only had 2 years, but I picked it up so easily then and my second year I was doing 3rd and 4th year exercises as extra homework just for fun.  But this has all been so long ago.  1992-1994.  So that's 15+ years ago.  Heck Ive been out of school for 13 years.  But I am disabled now with lung disease, COPD.  I worked 7 years in a nursing home until I couldn't work anymore.  I am thinking of going back to school but I want to do pharmacy work.  I still want to be a teacher, but I just don't have the same drive for it, like I used to.  I think if I had gone to college after high school, instead of straight to work, I would have been a teacher today.  But I am happy with my choice, I don't have any regrets and maybe one day I will do it.

The only thing about japanese I still can do is write it.  I can't translate it, but I can pronounce good and I can write the hiragana and katakana without a problem, of course I got to look some characters up, LOL.  And I have 2 kanji flashcard sets that I paid good money for.  Its the same cards they use in the japanese school systems.  It's for elementary grades, but by no means is it easy, LOL.

My son was a severe asthmatic with reactive airway disease. I know I bought the pediatric wing at National Park hospital. He was limited and spent a lot of time reading and drawing. He taught himself to speak Japanese and took some classes to learn how to write. He is studying video game design and goes to a lot of conferences. People remember him because he is the 6'4 well dressed black man who speaks Japanese. As for teaching there are a lot of children who struggle with reading and learning the basics. Perhaps helping them will satisfy that desire to teach. This is only a thought.

Evelyn,
Thanks for being proud of me.  It has NOT been easy, as a matter of fact, today was HORRID!!  Didnt over eat, DIDNT eat until 3:30 this afternoon.  Drank coffee and more coffee, but no food.  Gotta be better bout that when Im working.

Herbal Life is a weight loss program, the shakes are high, and the added personal protein powder is high as well.  Im not sure Im going to be able to afford it but Im going to try.  To buy a large shake mix and protein powder, its like $85.  And that is doing 2 shakes a day.  The reason they have so many flavors is b/c they have like 15 base flavors and then they give you the recipes to jazz them up and make them different.  I had a sample of the Orange Mango yesterday, it was made w/tropical fruit shake mix and a bit of orange and mago jello.  They are all sugar free (only natural sugars in there) and they are low in carbs and fat.  Very healthy!!

The teaching thing has always been a dream but by being severe asthmatic, I am not able to work every single day, but to sub means I can work as often as they need me when I am able.  I love it.  I work all ages, from Pre-K to 12th grade.  Keeps me young and I just want to be a shining positive example to the kids.  A child can never have too many positive loving people in their little lives.

Have fun at the walk, sorry I will miss it this year.  I wanna hear reports!
