Hey Tammy, I have a question

I've started back to the gym now that I can stay out of the bathroom, lol.  I have been using the eliptical for 30 minutes to start and my ankles are killing me.  I thought it was supposed to be the easiest on the joints.  Should I maybe wear ankle supports or something?

it is easier and less impact. Have you any previous ankle injuries?

I dont know if supports would help or hurt. If you use the braces you could be hurting yourself and not know it until it is too late.

What speed and incline are you on?

what if you walk at a comfy pace on the treadmill for 15 mins then switch to the elliptical for 15 and try that for a week.

How would you rate the pain? With 10 being the worst?

Sometimes our bodies rebel against our working out. I actually thought I hurt my hip when it was just my body fighting back. I had to sleep with my leg elevated and iced and there was no physical reason for the pain.

If it is so bad you may have to do a bike for cardio.  What have you done before in the gym?

get back with me when you can
hugs

what about your shoes????  are they new and offer good support???

that is very very important!!! I would suggest a good running shoe.

Like I said earlier....cut back on the elliptical and maybe lower incline and speed....it may not be agreeing with you right now. That happens and you will need to work your way into it easily.

I would check the shoes first, then cut the time and lower the levels on machine.

hope this helps

Thanks Tammy.  I will get better shoes and I will try to take it a little slower.  I'm wondering if the Levaquin I'm taking could be making my joints sore right now too.

yeah the meds could too....do you have side effect info?

shoes are really important especially if you are wearing older shoes broke in at your much heavier weight, also our shoe size changes with weight loss. I dropped 2 sizes.

hope you find relief and ask for help anytime
