Hi everyone!

Today is my Monday since I work Saturdays. As far as the beginning of the week goes, it won't be too bad. I have a very slow day at the salon....back to school always affects us, so I will spend the afternoon cleaning my nail station. Saturday my hair station got the once over, more than once, so today it's the dusty nail area. Then, this afternoon on my way home I'll stop by Baptist to see a client who's been admitted. Lovely lady with a nasty wound infection that she got on vacation three months ago. I can sure sympathize!!

So..........we all have to send out some positive vibes and wishes to our Tammy. She's struggling to beat the Coke (soda, NOT coke) addiction. You CAN do it Tams!

Rhonda is still trying to get her ankle to heal, Steve's hanging in at work. We haven't seen so many people lately. Kellectible, Teacher Karen?  One of these day's I'll go through the AR membership list and holler at all of them to come back!

Okay, how's your day going to be?  I started with a bkfst burrito, will have leftover chicken and Cuban beans/rice for lunch, and a snack of cottage cheese w/ homemade applesauce on it. Dinner is pot roast w/ veggies.  Lots and LOTS of water and green tea.

Have a good one!

Morning ya'll,
I am cleaning house this week. Got company coming in this weekend. Well, I will clean house up thru Thursday, then I have to babysit my 2yr. old grandaughter till Sunday.  Whew, I forget how much energy it takes to take care of a 2 ry old. And that is why having kids is for the young...lol. My son is building a new computer for my sister. Hers is older than dirt, so he is building her a super duper one.  So she and her family is coming this weekend so he can tranfer all her stuff to the new one and then take it home. It is pretty nice having my own IT person here. I would be lost without him when it comes to computers. When he starts talking mother boards and processors, it goes right over my head.
Hope ya'll are enjoying this wonderful August weather.

Cudos to Tammy!!!! Keep it up girl.....you can do it.

Wow, Ann. Keeping that baby will certainly give you plenty of exercise this week...LOL.

Yeah, these kids of ours are too smart for us. Good thing they know when to slow it down for us old folks.

Hugs to ya.  Stay well

Susan

Today is my Friday at work.. but that all changes this week. I love the work I do, hate the people I have to work with. Came home from work last Friday and had a meltdown-spent 30 minutes crying in the kitchen while my date didn't know what to do. lol... I took a self proclaimed "mental health day" on Saturday- boy was it needed. The past 2 months I've had cravings for chocolate... it's not usually hard to leave it on the shelf as I don't feel good when I give in and sample some- but yeah, I do subject myself to it once in a while.  I've never been a drinker- don't like the taste of alcohol. But, I've noticed over the past few months that I've drank more then normal. Chalk it up to hell at work? Enjoying life more? Hell, I don't know-  but I'm putting the brakes on it. don't get me wrong, I've not been sloppy drunk- but rather having 1 or 2 when out dancing. Back to water only for me.

Figured out the meltdown- damn pms!  That explains the powerful chocolate craving as well. grrrr.

Tammy- you are so NOT alone in this. I work swing shift, so I don't get to many of the support group meetings either. Actually, I think I've attended 2 and I'm 11 months out. OOps.. how much trouble am I gonna be in with Dr. Baker? (guess I can't help it, work schedule and all) Anyhow, with support we can do anything we set our minds to. I gave up all soda 4 years ago- but I was never a huge drinker of it anyway, so that wasn't hard. Hang in there... YOU CAN DO IT!

Look, I rambled too... and it's OKAY!

My dear, it's good you recognize that alcohol is not a good thing to turn to for any reason. We WLS folks have a tough time with cross addictions, it's just how we're wired. Empty calories, and too much of a chance of pouch damage. Good for you for being a smart gal!!!

The Nut that I see is all for a piece of dark chocolate now and then, and even praised me for including it in my fitday.com plan. It's full of antioxidants and good fat, but for me, one piece isn't enough, it's more like a whole bar over the course of a day. Again, that damn addicitive personality thing.

Have a great day!

Hi ya'll.  Well I went back to work Tuesday.  Monday w't as Agnes" funeral.  It was a really nice service.  It was held at the National Cemetery here in Ft. Smith.  Things were uneventful thank goodness.  The great-grandson showed up wearing sun glasses.  Seems his little sister managed to give him a black eye during the free-for-all in the funeral home parking lot the other day.  Lord, deliver us.  I'm still feeling weak and tired but I managed to make it through the whole day.  The Lomotil is holding me through the day now.  I was up several times through the night but my insides seem to be calming down a bit.  It will be a few days before we get the results from the cultures.  Tuesday I had a slice of wheat toast with 2% cheese and a slice of tomato for breakfast, a lean cousine that was beef and vegetables for lunch, some watermelon for a snack, and hot and sour soup with some shrimp thrown in for supper.  Drank all of my water and some G2 along the way.  I joined the gym and have been one time since then.  I would like to get back but I'm not feeling up to it yet.  Friday is my appointment with the cardiologist in Springdale.  I don't anticipate that will be much of a big thing.  At my age, a lot of us have a leaky valve from untreated strep infections from childhood.  I'm hoping that's the case anyway.  Everyone have a good day.

Serves the little punk right....LOL

I LOVE hot and sour soup and never thought of putting shrimp in it. Wow, what a great idea!  We'll have to try it one of these days. Glad you're feeling better, just getting one foot in front of the other makes you feel better. I know it does me.

Hope all goes well at the cardiologist. Let us know

Susan
