Clarification on Dr Baker's rules about carbonation

Last week at the general support group meeting, a man and woman asked about being able to drink diet soda post op as long as it was clear, ie diet spirte 7up, etc. This info came to them during the conference call with the dietitian. Of course, Lauren and I jumped onto this with both feet!  We KNOW Dr Baker's stance is firm on this, so how did this info get to them?

Well, Lauren called Baker's office and there has been some miss communication.

DR BAKER FORBIDS CARBONATED BEVERAGES OF ANY KIND....FOREVER!

Soda seems to be a harder addiction to beat than smoking. People are very protective of their Mountain Dew, Dr Pepper and Cokes. Too bad. They're about as bad for you as cigarettes.

Haven't had one in three years. I've taken a sip twice of DH's and thought I was going to have to spit it out it was so awful

ok...lets try this post again...

they are a horrible addiction and I am not doing well getting off them,

I need cokaholics anonymous or something

So my advice....get off them stay off them and never look back.

Its the one thing I cant get rid of, I could go with out eating but I have an emotional bond with Coke. I hate that I ever drank the first one as a kid.

Everytime something bad happened...I got a coke and all was better.

Its evil....  thats all I have to say
