I'm new here.....
Hello to one and all! My name is Crystal and I live in Searcy, I had my lap band done May 26th here in Searcy and I have lost a total of 38 pounds. I am looking for friends, help and support and bet I can find it here. I look forward to interacting with everyone and finding my way around the site (even though I am seriously frustrated from the speed due to all the ads).
Hi Crystal. My name is Missy. I also live here in Searcy, AR. I'm new to the area and have an appointment Wednesday with Dr. Gibbs. Do you know anything about him and are you happy with your doctor? I'm just not sure if I need to go to Little Rock for the lap band. I would prefer to stay here in Searcy if possible. Thanks....
Hi, Missy. Dr Gibbs did my surgery on May 26th and I've been very happy with him and his office staff. My hospital stay was uneventful and the nurses on the surgical floor were very nice and caring. I opted to stay in Searcy for my surgery because of all appointments before hand and the follow up required and I didn't want to track back and forth to Little Rock for all those. I will be at the support group meeting on the 27th at the hospital. It starts at 5:30. That meeting lasts an hour and then there is the seminar with either Dr Laffoon or Gibbs. The wonderful thing was that from the time I attended the seminar until my surgery was only about 3 weeks! When I went to a seminar in LIttle Rock, it was a month before I could get in to see the surgeon. Please plan to attend because I would love to meet you and we can support each other. You can call Julie Smith at the hospital to let her know you will be at the seminar. Her number is 380-3455. She is the program coordinator.
Thanks for the welcome! I see the doctor tomorrow for my first fill and am very excited. I will be glad to get a fill because I am starting to experience my first hungar pangs. I don't like them! My weight loss has slowed since the first few weeks but it is still going down. I am 7 weeks out today and have lost a total of 38 pounds so that is nothing to sneeze at! I lost 15 of that with the pre-op diet but, still, 23 pounds is 7 weeks is better than I ever did on Weigh****chers! I'll keep you posted on my Friday weigh in. (I'm trying to not obsess with the scale. I had hubby hide it!)
