Next support group meeting----Clothing Exchange!!

Hey folks,

So....we're going to try this and see what happens. If you have clothes you want to get rid of (and who doesn't?) bring them to the support group meeting on 9th.

Take a piece of masking tape and write the size on it so it's easy to see. Makes it quicker than trying to see/find the tag.

Okay.....

OH, YEAH....bring grocery bags and remember:  IF SOMETHING OF YOURS IS STILL THERE AT THE END OF THE EVENING, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE IT BACK HOME!!!!

Hope this turns out to be fun. I think it can help a lot of folks, and clean out our closets, too!

I think that is a great idea. I just wish I was going to be there. I will be in Branson on vacation. I sure hope I can make it next month. I haven't been in awhile because it just seems like there is always something going on here that prevents me from going. But I really do think the clothing exchange is a great thing to do for everyone.

Susan, I will "handle" all the leftovers, as promised.  I've been meaning to post something way before now,  but you know what an airhead I am!

SOME GUIDELINES FOR CLOTHING EXCHANGE:

1.  No underwear, please

2. Limit what you bring to 10 or less items. (initially anyway, and we'll see how it goes)

3.  Bring only "season appropriate" items.

4.  All items should be clean!  Not necessarily dry-cleaned or pressed mind you, but nothing that's been wadded up in the bottom of your dirty-clothes hamper for months.

5.  Don't bring anything you would be embarrassed to have worn to the meeting yourself.  (I'm all about some casual clothing folks, but pants with holes worn in the butt or t-shirts covered in grease stains? NOT.
I'm just sayin'!...
)

6.  No hangars, please.  Nicely folded is perfect.

If you don't want to take home your "leftovers" at the end of the night, I'll be glad to take them to ARC and/or Goodwill Friday morning.

We're a super-friendly group of people so I don't forsee any big ole' catfights over particular clothing items, but consider yourself warned that if it DOES get ugly, I'll videotape and post it on U-TUBE in a heartbeat!!! Wouldn't that be a hoot? Our surgeons would disown/disacknowledge us, ha ha! (I tend to be able to find humor in just about evrything... )

Great job, my dear. I'd expect no less from you than your wonderful humor!!!

I'd love to see you video tape it and send it on to our docs. They already know we're nuts, but this would confirm it.

Could you do me a teeeeeeeeeeeensy favor??  Would you copy/paste this to a new thread so it will start at the top of the page??  I'm afraid folks won't see it now that it's farther down the page.

Love ya Doll!!

I didded it, Tiny Big Chief!

I'm glad that you didn't think I was trying to be clothes-nazi or anything.  Just thought I'd try and pre-empt any of those clothing-exchange horrors we've heard from others!

Love you much!

I'll be there and I'm bringing just a few clothes (5 or so I forget) and a couple of pairs of shoes.
