I hope you have all been out doing fun things instead of being on the computer!!  If that's the case, it's okay that the board is slow, but if you're just lurking and reading, come on out and say howdy!!

I was supposed to take half a day off yesterday, but got busy making money instead. That's alright, I have the next three days off now. Of course, it's going to rain like crazy, but I have plenty to do around the house.

Saturday was ok, hot and sticky, then cool and sticky.  Had a birthday party at the barn, so I didnt do much but hang out there.  Company got here around 3 and will be here until Wednesday.  And dont you know, its gonna rain the entire time!!!

Food was ok, not great yet, Im so worried about gain from lack of exercise.

Coffee
Crystal Lite
2 fried eggs and slice of organic cheddar
Slice of cornbread
small bbq rib
4 oz ground turkey burger
3 bites english pea salad
water water water
crystal lite

The foot is still hurting pretty bad, in the boot for one more week, but not sure how its gonna go out of the boot.  I worked at the school Wednesday, and then cooked supper at the barn that night and overdid it, so I layed around for 2 days, and then it started hurting again yesterday.  It is better than it was, but Im worried what will happen when I start walking on it w/o the boot.  Oh well, we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
Hope all has a safe holiday and maybe somone will get some sunshine.

Hey Honey,

I too am concerned that your foot hasn't improved more than it has. Sorry to say, but if it still hurts this much in a boot, being out of it isn't going to make it feel any better. I guess all I can say is stay off of it as much as possible and see what happens.

Remember, I lost the majority of my weight while going through all of the stuff with my foot. Most of the time nearly immobile! I kept my protein high, fat and carbs low. You need the extra protein to heal also, so keep that in mind.

Take care!

Well, it's been raining all morning here.  Blah, blah, blah is what it's like outside.  But I think I'm going to make my hubby take me out anyway.  Might as well.  Maybe I won't melt!

We walked twice yesterday, 30 minutes (2 miles) yesterday morning and 30 minutes (another 2 miles) yesterday afternoon.  I bought new expensive running shoes that I'm trying to break in for the last couple of days, so we'll see if they keep my plantar facittis at bay so I can get back to walking religiously.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Between the morning and late afternoon exercise, we pretty much spent most of the day on the run in town.  (It was super fun and I am SOOOO enjoying a 4 day weekend!!!)

Seriously, we've had over 40 inches since Jan 1 here!!!  Is it ever gonna stop?

I've forgotten to mention that I've started walking the neighborhood this week, got in three evenings! Last night was nearly 40 minutes. I used to be a band geek...marching band myself, then very involved with my son's high school program. Well, geek that I am, I put a bunch of marches onto my Ipod and use that to walk to. It's a great tempo, I love the music, and it brings back fond memories all at the same time!

Whatever gets you moving, right???

Hope the new shoes help. Are they the ones WendyII suggested?

Hi everyone

Well, I finished the backyard landscaping project yesterday and just chilled today while it rained.  We have lived in this house for eleven years and now I have the landscaping completed.   What does that say about my efficiency?  Maybe that's more a statement about budgets than efficiency, but at any rate it is finally complete.

As to food, I have settled in to the post op routine pretty well these days.  I told Susan yesterday that with the improved weather and associated activity increases I got another 10 pounds off in the last month.  I really feel like this is becoming a natural lifestyle now, rather than a diet or weight loss plan.   At any rate, I feel pretty good about the status these days.   Feeling very good, lots of energy and stamina and I crossed the 200 pounds lost barrier this week from my highest weight.

Here's the daily intake for today: (light on carbs today but that's not the norm)
B - carb master yogurt and laughing cow cheese
L - orange roughy and green beans
D - homemade shrimp creole (my daughter made this and it was great)
S - 2 skim lattes and planning to have some cottage cheese and fruit later this evening.

Hope everyone enjoys their holiday tomorrow.  May the rains end and the sunshine begin.

Oh my gosh....shrimp creole is one of my favorite dishes!!!  We went to Faded Rose one night a couple of weeks ago and that's what I ordered. Of course, I ate it that night and for the next two lunches. Had to add some defrosted shrimp the last day, but gee....three meals for $13 is not bad at all!

I so wish we had the desire/drive/know how to do our yard. Maybe I'll buy some lottery tickets and win enough to pay someone. Yeah, right!!!

It's great to see you're getting into the new groove, and especially wonderful to hear you broke that 200lb mark!  Congratulations!!!! Keep at it, my friend. You'll be fine!

Yes, I'm definitely in for Buck's before the next meeting.

Wow. Some of the food you all have been listing doesn't sound bad at all. It is nice to know that I won't have to give up everything. Questions . . What is Cedorlane couscous? What is PB2 (is that peanut butter)?

Hi Karen,

I saw you were on your Farewell Tour before your surgery. Don't despair.....you can eat most foods after surgery that you could eat before. Of course, there are some exceptions, and everyone is different!
Just because we've stopped eating like  MO people, doesn't mean we've quit living....LOL

Cedarlane wrapd are found at Kroger in the "health food/organic" freezer section. They are very high in protein and low in fat, most of them vegetarian. All of the ones I've had are very, very good. They were on sale for $1.19 (down from almost $3 ea), so I bought a bunch. Perfect size for my lunch (I'm over 2 1/2 yrs out).

PB2 is a dry peanut butter that you mix with water. Sounds crazy, but those who buy it LOVE it. Very low in fat, or maybe it's fat free, and high in protein.

Hope these answers are what you were looking for.

Looks like everyone's doing well.  That is inspirational to see...

I have had a really busy time with my son graduating high school. He ended up with a $33,000 scholarship from Henderson State.  I am very proud!  My daughter came down from Baltimore and we all had great fun!  After the ceremony had several friends over yesterday and grilled out.  Was really glad the weather turned out so nice.  Super great weekend.

The money situation has turned out much better as my son's dad finally caught up his back child support.  His dad is in the hospital now though after another wreck. He has been a severe diabetic with terrible issues with his blood sugar skyrocketing then plummeting.  He has a head injury now and my son is torn between wanting to help his dad and feeling neglected after all these years of being ignored by his dad.  I told him however he feels is the right thing.  Not to feel obligated.

Anyway..as for the weight loss..there is none.  I haven't dropped any weight to speak of since last October.  I am going to call Dr. Gibbs next week to see about an aggressive fill.  Seems to me the people who have the most success with the band are the ones with aggressive fills and consistant exercise.  I sometimes wish I had gotten the rny..but I know this is a 2 year process no matter which way you go.  I am 11 months out.  70 or so pounds down.
Things are good no matter what though.  I am very grateful to be a size 16 still...because this time last year..size 22 was very tight.

Thats it for now..
