Saw Dr. Roller again today
I got rid of the JP drain today! He said it will probably be about two more weeks for the bile duct drain though. I guess I can live with that. Was feeling kind of sorry for myself this morning and he told me I am right on track. He said that necrotizing cholicystitis is the worst kind and that it will take longer to heal than just having a regular gallbladder removal. It doesn't make it suck any less though, lol. I was hoping to be released to go back to work but not this week. I know that I really do still feel pretty weak and achy still. I am feeling better to the point where I am sick to death of being home and not being able to do much of anything. I am getting around better and I even drove to town yesterday to visit my buddies at work for a little bit. My boss is wonderful and she told me that if I get too bored I can come up there and sit and bug them for a while. My tongue is raw and I have a bit of a yeast infection from all the antibiotics I had to take but I'm done with that now. Got a pill for the yeast so all is well with the world. I'm off to take a short nap. I wish this rain would end already. My yard looks like a jungle. We haven't gotten our garden in yet either except for some loofa plants that I started in the house back in January. Well, I'm off to bed. Ya'll have a good day.
Hi Sybul,
Glad you're starting to feel better, but also glad your doctor hasn't released you yet. You've been through a lot, so just take the time you need to heal and get stronger. Your job is a demanding one, so you need to be sure you're really ready to go back.
I hear you about the boredom. I've had to home after more surgeries than I care to list and it's the pits. I used to think I wanted to be a stay at home wife (ahhhhh the dreams of youth) but have found that I am a much better person when I'm able to be out and about and being productive.
Be easy on yourself. Take up your boss' offer and go visit your friends at work, it might make you feel better!
