Hey, I am 2 1/2 years out from my lapband surgery.  I have recently been having some night cough. . .does anyone else expereince this.  I am at a good restriction spot with my food and don't have any trouble during the day.  But, at night I have trouble about and hour after I fall asleep/lay down.  What to do? ? ?

Thank you.

Hi! I am almost two years out from surgery and I just went through this same thing. I suffered with it about a month and then I started having things in addition to the night cough. I would start throwing up in my sleep...not really food but like foamy stuff or whatever....sorry I know its gross but anyway thats what was happening. So I finally called Dr. Wellborn and they told me to come on in to see them. I went back Tuesday and they ended up having to take fluid out of my band. I was too tight but didnt realize it and that is a symptom of being too tight! As soon as they took the fluid out I started sleeping with no cough and have been great ever since. Not sure if this is the same problem as you are experiencing but I would suggest calling the doctor to see what they want to do...just to be on the safe side!

Hope this info helps you out a little. Be sure and let me know how you turn out.

Thanks for your response.  I just had a fill and I am in denial I think.  I didn't want that to be the answer but, in all honesty was pretty sure that was what I was looking at.  . . .uuugghhh.  I love this band but, the maintance stage has been the hardest for me.  I did great during the initial loss but, now tweeking where I want to be and where I should be has been difficult.  It is also hard when you are 3 hours away from the Dr.  I wouldn't trade my surgeon for anything just wish he was closer. . . . .

Thanks again.  :) Shannon
