Back in the hospital for gallbladder removal, yuck
O.K., In my own defense, my symptoms were atypical. Here's my story and I'm sticking to it! We drove down to Houston on Thursday after we got off work we were so excited about seeing all of my sisters and family. Got in about 1a.m. Friday morning. We slept in a bit on Friday and then hit the IKEA store. That place is awsome. I found the shelves I wanted and several other things I didn't know I wanted until I saw them, lol. Their prices are really great. Anyway, after we got that out of the way, we went back to my sister's house and did some yard work, messed with her horses, picked blackberries, just hung out and visited and had a good day. Went to bed early feeling tired from the big day. Woke up around 11pm with a splitting headache, stomach that hurt really bad, running a fever and then started with the dry heaves. That night was pretty much shot because every time I tried to lay down, my stomach hurt even more. I slept for the next two days (didn't get to go to Sammie's retirement dinner). Tried to get in some fluids but was having a hard time. We drove back to AR on Monday and that was a miserable day. I tried to eat something a few times but I just couldn't stand the thought of eating. I did do a lot better on the water dept. though. When I got up Tuesday, I was still running a fever and still felt punkish but my stomach was feeling better. I called work and settled on the couch for the day. I was able to eat just fine that day. Woke up Wednesday and has a 102 temp. Finally decided it was probably something more than a virus and decided I had better go to the ER and get checked out. Six hours later, I was told that my gallbladder was horrible and that they were going to have to admit me and take it out. Well, I told the doctor that if I had to have gallbladder surgery, I wanted Dr. Roller to do it. She got really pissy and started throwing a bunch of stumbling blocks in my way. We finally got them to release me with the paperwork and ultrasound after I had her talk to Dr. Roller. Took the gallbladder out on Thursday. This hurt more than the RNY. Dr. Roller came in this morning and told me mine was the worst gallbladder he has ever seen since he's been here. Anyway, I have to stay until Monday now because he said it looks like a clamp didn't hold and I'm leaking bile. He said they sometimes will seal on their own. He is ordering some kind of test today that should show him where I'm leaking at. Anywho, like I said, these are not typical gallbladder symptoms. I am sending hubby home today and told him not to come bac****il late tomorrow. He needs rest too.
Im so sorry you are having such issues w/your surgery. I was one that had my gall bladder out before surgery, but I can honestly say, my RNY was much easier. I hope you have a speedy recovery. At least your pre-surg pain was short, I threw up everything I put in for 6 weeks, before we figured out the problem.
Hope you get better soon, and I dont blame you for demanding your surgery doc to do this surgery. I tell folks if I had a rock up my nose, Id want Baker to remove it. Funny how we attach ourselves to the surgeons who saved our lives. Hope you get well soon. Many prayers your way.

Wow....no, none of those are symptoms of anything related to your gallbladder. Was the gallbladder that bad that it was causing infection which, in turn caused the fever??
I'm so glad you stood your ground and made them get Dr Roller for you. These docs....such egos. I bet if she wanted a certain doctor for HER surgery she'd get who she wanted!
Take care and let us know about the leak test.
