Dr's report #1
Hey Susan...I hear ya on the calcium thing! I take my morning and evening dose everyday, but that middle of the day dose never makes it to my mouth...I just forget! I do drink 2-3 glasses of milk everyday so maybe that makes up the difference ?
I guess I'm another example of what can happen when you don't follow the rules. I started working out again, regularly that is, about 3 months ago. There is a group of women at church that have started getting together 3 times a week to workout...and I mean intense workouts, we have sweat pouring off of us when we're done. Stupidly, I didn't increase my fluid intake to compensate what I was sweating out and now I'm mildly dehydrated and my potassium is too low...I've been having muscle aches and cramps and very tired....also my blood pressure keeps dipping too low because of the dehydration. I'm on the mend, but it will take a little time before I'm 100% again. Guess we're still learning, huh?
I've also had a 5lb. weight gain...but my doctor says its all muscle. My measurements are exactly the same as a year ago and my clothes all fit the same, so I'm not too concerned about it. I hope you get some good news on your next report! I'm gonna try to make the next support group meeting, I think I need it right about now! I need to reconnect and remind myself why I did this in the first place! After 2 years I've become a little complacent about the whole thing...I even missed my 2 yr. anniversary, didn't even realize it until a few days ago! I don't know if it's a good thing that I forgot it, or bad?
I think that the farther out we get the less we feel the need for support. Not only are we dead wrong about that, but the ones following behind us need us as much as we need them!
Us "old timers" are walking on uncharted territory and what we learn along the way can teach each other so much.
Yes, this has been a wake up call for me. I've gone 4 days without missing one dose of my calcium. I never miss my multis and B's since I take them every day when I brush my teeth, so I'm really proud of myself for this good run of getting in the mid day ones. I just get so darned busy at work that it's easy to forget.
We'd love to see you at support group!! We meet in the Doctor's dining room which is the little room at the far right hand side of the cafeteria.
Get tha****er in girl!!! And keep up the great work with the gym. You are an inspiration, for sure!
Susan
