I have a question.

This is for you guys who are at least one year out of wls. I go Friday to get my blood work done for my one year visit with Dr. Baker on the 21st of this month. The lab says that because of one of the test on the list, I have to fast before going.
Does this mean I can't take my vitamins and pills before going? I know you can have water, because they always have a hard time getting blood from me, so they tell me to drink water before I come.  I'm just not sure about taking the vitamins or not.  Help!!

I'm not really sure about the vits, but I just had mine done and I just waited until after the blood test to take mine that day.  My thinking was that it would do no harm to wait and maybe the tests would reflect more accurate overall levels if I didn't have a fresh dose of them in there.  I know this isn't exactly what you asked, but it's how I handled it.  Hope everything tests out great for you.

Steve! Happy late surgiversary. Boy, it sure does not seem like it's been a year for you. Sorry for just now noticing this. I probably wouldnt have noticed if she hadn't said "for those a year out". I was thinking, "he isn't...is he???"

I had my lab done first thing in the morning and waited to have anything until after my lab work.

That's great! I hated my name growing up. I had 2 good friends named Stephanie as well as my sister. It seemed like everyone shared a name except me. I had never even heard my name anywhere else. I asked my mother to call me Sara =) I knew 2 other Sara's so that was a safe name.

I still think it's a "different" name, but I like different. I hear it more frequently now so I guess it's not that unique. My name is Shawna Michelle...I have a cousin named Shawn Mitchell. My cousin is about 10 years older than me. My mother swears it is just coincidence.
