Amazing Finds At Grocery Stores
Recently I have been finding some amazing items. So here is a couple.
RiceWorks chips
these chips are like tortilla chips except their made out of brown rice, I tried the sweet n chili (or something to that affect) and found that I had no grumpy pouch when I ate a few of these. And they tasted really great.
Puffed Brown Rice
found this at WalMart yesterday only $1.00 a bag, found it in the cereal aisle where they have all the cheap bagged cereal. I love puffed rice cereal so I was overjoyed to find puffed brown rice cereal and the price was unbeattable. Can't find any cereal for a buck these days.
MorningStar Farms Meal Starters
I got the grillers recipe crumbles (made with natural ingredients and 80% less fat than ground beef) Now this is all vegan, no actual meat is in the bag, but its all healthy for you and has 10 gms of protein (textured vegetable protein from soy protein concentrate) per serving which is abt 2/3 cup (or 55gms)
You can use this like you would any crumbled hamburger. I haven't tasted it yet, but I plan on it soon.
Success Whole Grain Brown Rice Mix
It's rice in a bag, in different flavors but all brown rice. I like the chipotle one kinda spicy and also the broccolli and cheddar flavored one is really great. It cooks in abt 10 minutes, so fast and asy to cook when you are trying to cook dinner for a family (or just a roomie with an appetite like me). They have other flavors to. I found these at Big Lots for .90 cents a package. They have had them there consistently all year so far. Usually when something sells out at Big Lots you never see it there again. I have not seen this at the grocery store though, I am sure you can find it at Wal Mart, since Wal Mart sells everything known to man.

Evelyn, have I said how good it is to see you back? LOL
My son and DIL are vegetarians and I use the MorningStar Farms products a lot. The Starters are only 12oz, but there's the equivalent to a pound of ground beef in that bag.. I use it for anything that I'd use hamburger for, chili, spag sauce, tacos, whatever.
I'll have to look for the Success Brown rice mix. I love brown rice, so much more to it, and healthier too!

I probably shouldn't mention then that I got the MorningStar veggie meat for abt .90 cents a bag, they were in a 75% off freezer bin at Kroger one morning. They also had chicken patties, sausage and something else but I don't remember. We had put like 13 bags of the "hamburger" meat in our basket till my roomie found out they were vegetarian and put them all back, but I managed to sneak a few bags back in, but didn't get to keep the chicken patties :(
