Spectacular Saturday

I sure hope you're all out doing fun things on this incredibly beautiful day!  I didn't feel well during my day at work, left early as a matter of fact. When you're self-employed you just don't DO that. Oh well. Came home, tossed back a couple of Gas-x strips, took a nap and all is well again. So, after dinner I think Gary and I will take a walk.

It's WAYYYYYYYYYY to pretty to stay in!

So, how's your weekend shaping up???

Glad you are feeling better and I hope you stay that way.   It is a beautiful day for a walk so enjoy.
I told y'all I was going to do something outside today and I did.  My daughter, our dog and I climbed Pinacle Mountain this morning.  I haven't done that in over 25 years.  It is taller and steeper than it used to be, but we survived.   Here is a pic of Cutter and me about halfway up (when at least MY tongue was still in my mouth).

Hope everyone enjoys this fine spring weekend.

Steve, you look GREAT!  Congrats on being able to do Pinnacle, what an achievement.  We got sidetracked this evening and at the last minute I decided that Gary needed to walk Two Rivers Park since he'd never been there. By the time we got there it was too late. Bummer. So then by the time we got home it was too dark to be walking the neighborhood, too.

Oh well.

Cutter is one beautiful pup

My weekend is going ok.  work wasn't too bad..got some OT.  Came home put my walking shoes on, and walked my 30 minutes then did a yoga/breathing thing for another 30.

The little kids are here but just for one nite..so it's not too bad...they are pretty good kids.

I love the pic Steve..your doggie is so pretty...

Hope you got out and about Susan~!  it is wonderful...Arkansas has the very best Springs and Autumns...

Glad you're feeling better, Susan.  Being sick on such a beautiful day is the pits.

Steve -- lovely pic!  Makes me want to go back to Pinnacle.  I think the last time I climbed it I was in jr. high. LOL

Today was my long run day, so I headed out around the neighborhood for a while.  It was dinnertime so I was treated to the lovely aroma of burgers on the grill at every turn.  I thought about knocking on a few doors and asking if there were extras, but I didn't think my disheveled appearance would be good manners.

I ended up running about 4 1/3 miles.  There were a few more hills than I anticipated, so I took a 2 minute walk break about halfway through.  Ended up finishing in 57:33.  I am whooped, but in a good way!

I would have invited you in!

Tell me, curiosity has me asking how the increase in activity has effected your weight loss?

I'm not sure if it's because of where I am post-op or increased appetite and changes in nutritional composition (I eat more carbs now for energy), but my weight loss has slowed a bit.  I'm down to around 5 lb per month vs the 10 I was losing before.  I'm also >6 months out, though...

It's a mixed bag.  I'm glad it's slowing now because I don't want to lose too much and it's nice to know I may be able to stop where I want, but I'm worried the last 20 lb will be really hard to get off.  Also, what happens if I stop exercising?  Will I GAIN?!?  I don't even want to go there right now.

I'm embarassed to say I don't exercise. One of the reasons (lame at this point  LOL) was because I couldn't afford to lose another pound. I really need to start weight training, but  just can't get myself motivated to go there.
I can't see you not running now that you have the bug! As far as your weight loss slowing, you're probably building muscle, at least  in your lower body.

We'll, exercise rarely lets me lose weight.  I lose inches..but not weight.  Once when I was exercising 2 times a day..I went from a size 16 to a size 10 in about 6 weeks..and lost only about 5 pounds total.  I can't let the scale dictate what is best for my body.  I remember when I was deathly ill in the hospital in ICU, I hadn't eaten in about 2 weeks and they weighed me from the bed scale since I couldn't stand up...the nurse kept re-weighing me saying no way I weighed 230 pounds...but..I did..the scale has never been a friend to me.  My very best way of telling how I"m doing is my clothes.
