Anyone else have scale obsession?

I have/had a really bad problem with weighing like, 3-4 or more times a day.  Every time I would go to the bathroom, I would weigh.  And, I would get depressed when I would gain a couple of lbs, soo I got rid of my scale.  AND, I have'nt weighed in 3 days, a record for me.  I was going to go weigh at the mall yesterday, but I did'nt get around to it.  It felt like it was becoming an addiction, thats how bad it was.  But, I am the kind of person that likes to see progress on the scale to keep me motivated/encouraged.  Does anyone else have this problem?

ME ME ME ME!

I know we shouldn't weigh so often, but I typically weight twice a day... about an hour after I wake up, then again before I go to bed. I WANT to see the numbers go down asap. It is an obsession to an extent- but if I'm not home I don't have an issue with not weighing. Yes, it can add an element of depression during those times when the scales don't move, but the joy I feel when they do is able to make up for it.  Those moments require text messages and phone calls to key support people. Also, I like to have a current answer for friends and co workers when they ask how much I've lost now.. (I know I could tell them I haven't weighed lately, but they love knowing as much as I do)

I guess I figure it keeps me driven to exercise and increase intake where needed on a daily basis to know what the scale is saying. I'm sure I'll not stop my daily weigh ins, but everyone needs to do what is best for them and motivates and encourages them.

Good luck!

I am weighing in once a week, but my daughter she will hop on that scale every time she passes it. I do weigh myself in the morning every Saturday.

Oh gosh, I weigh twice a day religiously.  Right after surgery it was great because I could literally see my weight dropping about 2.5 lbs a day.  When you're 9 months out like I am now though, it has really slowed down.  I just want to know.  My weight loss patterns change and it helps me see what is going on.  I tried putting the scales up but I couldn't stand it.  Oh well, better an addiction to weighing myself than eating.
