Calories
Hey Susan,
Thanks. I am getting between 900-1000 calories a day. I got 96 gs of protein today. Who hoo!!
I think tomorrow I might e-mail Addy at Dr. Baker's and ask her. She is usually pretty good about getting back to ya
I know Wendy would know, but she seems to be out of sorts right now. I know she is busy, busy. Maybe she will hollar at me later when she gets time.

Sorry I'm so late responding. I just got a little time off today & tomorrow - so I can catch up on the posting thing finally!!!
I think it varies by person, depending on how much weight you have lost and how much you still want to lose and how much you had to lose to begin with. They didn't even talk to my mom about calories at all. I ALWAYS pressed them for a # because I'm a #s girl - it helps keep me in line if I have a tangible figure to work with.
At my 6 month post-op check-up, I was w/in 20 pounds of so of my personal goal of 140 (if I remember correctly), so he increased me from 800 calories to 1000 to slow me down some. At about 9 months out, I emailed Courtney because I was STILL losing at 1000 per day. She replied that that was fine though. A couple of weeks later, I called & spoke to Addie (I was still losing and below goal). Addie increased me to 1200 - 1250 calories per day at about 9 months post-op. At my 1 year post-op check-up, I was below goal and still losing about 1 - 2 pounds per week. Dr. Baker increased me to 1500 (which was right on track with what the RD who did my MedGem test said). I was still losing (albeit VERY slowly) at 1500 calories per day, so a couple of months ago, I was increased to 1700 per day. I think I'm maintaining okay at that. I lose some weeks and gain some weeks (none of them big enough to be "real" gains/loses). So I figure I'm finally set now.
So there really is no answer. My calorie # and Steve's will not be the same. Yours won't either. It has SOOOOO much to do with how much you had to lose to begin with, where you want to end up at weight wise, how quickly you're losing and whether or not you need to slow down yet or not, etc.
Sorry I can't give you a better answer than that!!! I'd definately go with the emailing or calling Addie.
