What is it with the word "morbid"? Couldn't they have picked a better word? When I was MO, I would have paid the doctor to call me a beached whale than to say the "m" word. Wait....it just occured to me that I was paying him to call me morbidly obese! Jerks! Take my money and call me bad names?
Congrats. Your new hair do is super cute!

Girl, hang on is all I can say! I feel like I've been stalled since October, but in reality it hasn't been a "stall". I lost VERY, VERY LITTLE from October to February. Like under 5 pounds very little. It has been stressful. I haven't weighed this week since it's my TOM and that may cause false readings, but I have been losing all month. It's the strangest thing. It hasn't been a lot, but it has been in a steady, downward direction. I usually go up and down the same few pounds for a couple weeks. In October is was in the 190s, right now I'm knocking on the 170s door.
I think it is natural for you to slow down dramatically at some point. Your body is saying, "Wow wow wow! What the heck?!?!" It may even try to hold onto every little ounce until it realizes that this is what is going to happen! Slap it around a little and show it who's boss. I would make sure you are getting enough protein in, some times a boost will jump start things. Water can also kick it up a notch. I think you have an appointment coming up if I remember correctly. Talk to Anne about the amount you eat. You may not be eating enough or this may just be part of the process of losing.
You have lost super fast so far so be prepared for a few stalls. Your body is trying to catch up. Just don't get discouraged. This was the phase during pre-op diets when I would go, "okay, diets over. You aren't losing anymore so resume eating whatever you want!"

Hold up!!! I just realized that you are only 3 months out and you are almost HALF WAY to goal. Holy crap dude!!!! That is just insanity. You are losing like the man did (my husband...lol). Let your body stall, it is worn out. No wonder! You will resume losing so just hang on tight!
As for exercise, I like a good burn, but I don't partake in any exercise that I don't plan to do long term. (okay, except for bootcamp that one time, but that was a short term thing to bump my weight loss) Anyways, I don't think it's a good idea to work your rear off if that is not a long term goal of yours. Exercise is good, but be realistic. Look at the biggest loser, they work out extremely unrealistic amounts a day and then most of them regain because no one can spend that kind of time in the gym for the rest of their lives!
There's my 2 cents

Hey Amanda,
Way to go! Getting out of those brackets on our way down to healthy is a great motivator. You're right, morbid is an awful word, happy you're rid of it.
Did you measure yourself before your surgery or right after it? At about the three month mark we tend to slow a bit in the scale catagory so our bodies can "catch up" with what's going on. You might find that you're losing inches, though. Remember, you've lost over 70 lbs since December! Keep up what you're doing, especially the walking, and be patient and good to yourself!!

You go girl!!! I'm totally inspired by your success. Keep it up. I'm like Shawna, I've been averaging about 10 lbs/month for the past few months. I haven't been doing any formal exercise though. I'm bad, bad, bad. I have been working my butt off in my own defense though. Between remodeling at home and walking my rear end into the ground on the weekends at work, I am hoping that helps some, lol.
