Top o' the Tuesday Mornin' to ye!

My roots are Irish. Well, actually they're gray, but my heritage includes family from Ireland. My husband is Irish and Mexican....interesting combo, huh?  For a hundred years (yes, I'm that old) I have made corned beef and cabbage on St Patrick's Day. Today Gary wants tacos. It doesn't seem right that I'm not cooking our traditional dinner and that he would decide to embrace the OTHER side of his heritage today. So, I suppose on May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) we'll have our corned beef?  I'm so confused!

I never got to the City and State offices for the business license yesterday so I MUST do that today. Our application for Holiday House needs to be in by the 27th and I'm sure they will want the license numbers. I'd rather poke a stick in my eye than go do this, but do it I will.

Okay folks, you all have a jolly good day. Wear green, or orange if you're folks are from Northern Ireland. I wouldn't bother, you'd have too much explaining to do.

Hugs to all!

Susan....you sure do know how to make people smile! I have been kinda feeling weird this morning....i'm sure its because i'm getting a littler nervous about my surgery Thursday! On top of that, during reading groups this morning a little boy in my class got into a fight with a little girl who had accidentally picked up his penicl and used it by mistake....they sit side by side! Anyway, I had to deal with that so its been a not so great morning. I got on here during break and saw your post and read it like i always do and it certainly brought a smile to my face! Thanks!

Hope everyone is having a good day! Take care!

Who won the fight?   The nerve of that little girl to use his pencil!

(just kidding)

LOL! Steve you are too funny! Actually, he scratched her hands up pretty good but nothing a little cold pack and a tiny bit of neosporin couldn't handle! She's fine and he went home for the day so all in all it worked out I guess!

I say put some corned beef and cabbage in those tacos and then everybody will be happy.

I don't envy you going to get the business licenses today.   The good thing is that once you get them, you can easily renew them by mail every year - not that that helps today.

I have some Irish heritage (Mom was a McKinney) but we don't do much to celebrate the day.  I do wear green though, cause I don't like to be pinched.

St Patrick's Day is also by RNY surgery day, so that gives me an even better reason to celebrate.  i guess we will have to start some kind of annual  remembrance for it.  Maybe next year.

Hope everyone is well today.

Happy surgiversary day Steve. You have done so well. Doesn't seem like a year does it? Or maybe it does to you. Mine is next month and it doesn't seem like a year to me. It's still hard work but it is so worth it.

Congratulations, Steve!  I bet a year ago, you couldn't have imagined the changes, huh? :-)

Good luck getting the license today. I hate to do stuff like that. Tries my nerves.

Well my three sisters and I survived the weekend. Didn't post yesterday, was way too tired.
We went to the bootheel of Missouri to visit my grandma and my aunt.

We had a good time. We laughed and laughed and laughed. It was good to just get away.
It was also sad. My grandma has Alzheimers (sp?). So her memory is getting really bad. She doesn't even know she lives in her own house. She kept asking to go home. She can't remember how to get from the living room to her bedroom. She can remember stuff from years and years ago. She recognized us part of the time and part of the time she didn't. It absolutely breaks my heart because I'm very close to my grandma. She helped raised me. She will be 90 this July. I hope she makes it till then. Enough about that.

You all have a good evening. Enjoy the nice weather.

I don't know why, Ann, but when I originally read "bootheel" my brain translated it as "brothel". LOL

I'm sorry about your grandma.  That must be difficult.
