Sunny (HA!) Sunday
Pretty quiet weekend in the Mowery household. Yesterday was a day of running errands and today was Church and a quiet afternoon.
Dian and I both had a stomach virus yesterday so didn't eat much -- feeling fine today though.
I am ready to do some fun stuff. Planning to play golf on Saturday.
Hope all is well with everyone.
It was my plan to sleep in this morning..come hell or high water. Forgot to factor in husband, who decided at 6:45 that going out to breakfast might be a good idea. I could have shot him!!! Oh well, off we went and shared a nice meal at Delicious Temptations on Rodney Parham. After that we took a long drive through Saline Co looking for a possible area to build a house. Lots of pretty places, but all of this is still a long way off.
Came home, had a lite beef hot dog in a lite bun and took a nap. Got that extra sleep in spite of Gary...LOL
Okay, that's it for now. See ya later!

As to the stomach bug, it wasn't really any different than before surgery. It wasn't real severe. I never threw up presurgery and I haven't since surgery. Sometimes that's good - sometimes it would probably be better to just get it out. I still felt the same kind of nausea as presurgery and it progressed to intestinal (just like it always did before) and then ended. Everything was fine today.
So we went back home yesterday. But my husband & I went on a date last nite to see Madea Goes to Jail since our son was gone to a friend's house & our daughter was gone to my mom & dad's. That was fun.
So then today we all got back up & went back to Kroger & did the Hot Dog booth today. We raised a little over $100 in just 3 hours. James was happy w/ it. I wanted to make more - but it was dreary and COLD - so I guess I'm happy with it too.
I told him next year, we need to advertise and maybe invite a radio station or something (or at least have them ADVERTISE it for us). They'd probably have done it for free since it was all for charity. Who knows.
So that's where I've been.
In parting, I'd like to say that I dread work tomorrow and I need a vacation.
$100 is great, considering what kind of a day it was. Good work, I say!
Take care
Susan
Hi Susan and Steve and everyone else in this wonderful state that we call home!
This has been one of the best weekends in a long time! The hockey game Friday night was fun but Oaklawn on Saturday was AWESOME! Eric and I had so much fun....we had seats inside but I think we may have sat in them a total of 5 minutes the whole time we were there. I wanted to be outside against the wall right up close to the horses! They are such beautiful animals! It was a great day and I definitely can't wait to go back.
Got up early for church this morning (very hard after that long drive back from Hot Springs last night....we got home at 3 am) and then we went to the country club for lunch afterwards. There was so much food to choose from and definitely a lot of tempting desserts but I was good....mainly because I can still only eat a small amount! LOL! Spent the rest of this chilly, foggy afternoon grading papers and working on report cards....want to get them done with and out of the way!
Got a little bit of exciting news to share with everyone....I am having brachioplasty (arm lift) on Thursday, March 19th at Springhill Surgery Center! Dr. Love and his nurse worked me in earlier than what I was originally scheduled for because I will be on Spring Break March 23-27 so that will give me some extra time to heal and to get back to tip top shape! Surprisingly, I am not too nervous but I'm sure I will be the closer the day of the surgery gets! Anyway, just wanted to share my news with y'all! I would appreciate any well wishes and prayers that y'all would be willing to send my way!
Take care everyone and enjoy the rest of this Sunday....its back to work tomorrow for most of us!
