I have been on here a few time, I am from Arkanas. I mainly use the Tennessee post because I had my suregery in Memphis with Dr. Weaver on Feb. 9th 09. It just seems like it takes so many calories to get in all of the protein for the day. I can not find anything on the internet refering it calories. I think I remember hearing my nutritionist say 600 calories, at least that is what is in my head. I have an appointment on the 23, I plan to confirm with her then.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Glad to have you here, and I'll help how ever I can.
I saw JoBeth at Baptist Hospital ( a M.S. in Nutrition, and no longer working there)..Her guidelines were not so much to concentrate on the number of calories taken in, but what was taken in. I think (go****'s been almost three years) that it was 600-750 cals per day at this period, with 50% cals being from protein, 30% from carbs and 20% from fat.
I looked back on my fitday.com reports and sure enough, I was right around 600 calories, striving to get at LEAST 60 grams of protein in. The only way I could have ever done that was with protein supplements, one, maybe two a day. The % ratio was the same through out the time I was losing, only increasing calories at about the half way point to 850-1000 cals, and then when I made goal it went to 1200-1400 cals a day and a ratio of 40% carbs, 30% protein, and 30% fat. still maintaining the 60-80 grams of protein a day.
Hope this helped!

I couldn't live without fitday.com!!!! It's a little slow getting going on it becuase you have to build you data base of "custom" foods by filling in all the info from the back of the packages, but in time it's so worth it....it's free, too!
When you go to use it, make sure you use decimals inteasd of fractions. Example: .5 for 1/2 cup, .25 for 1/4 cup, .125 for 1/8th (2 tbs) cup
