Terrific Thursday

Howdy all!

Lots going on here. Dear Gary has been wanting a truck, but I just hate to have payments, especially in this economy. We haven't had a payment for over 10 years, but we have one now. He found a GREAT deal on a '06 Ford F-150 with 18K miles and the remainder of the warranty for under $10K. With the trade in we made out really well. That's the good news.
The bad?  Well it seems that when the salon owner paved over her back yard to make a parking lot she didn't get a permit. The salon is in a converted house in a mix use zone.  Heck, her yard, her grass and dirt, who cares if it's now asphalt?  Well the crabby dentist who is trying to buy the property next door is in a snit because the City won't let him pave HIS back yard, so now Vickie has been given notice by the city to tear it up and restore it to what it was before. Without a parking lot we'll be out of business. Eight people's jobs, countless clients, 15 years of memories. Guess you know we won't be referring anyone to him for dental work!

Ok....so much of the fun and frivolity at the Higgins house. Busy the rest of the day with New Truck paperwork and Saint Bellaness.

Here's my intake for yesterday. Not as great as I wanted, but not too bad, either. Guess that's what I can be thankful for

breakfast burrito
fruit salad w/ lf cottage cheese
Kashi Sweet and sour chicken
bean and cheese burrito

2 -1% milk lattes
1- whole milk latte

1/2 oz almonds

cals: 1326  fat: 39  carbs 172  pro: 74

ARRRRGHHHH, the interwebs ate my first post!

Susan, I'm royally peeved on your behalf.  Son of a b!^&#!!!  I hope it all works out.

My yesterday was busy -- chauffeured Megan around to appointments and tried to take her shopping for a nice-ish outfit.  Time spent in hell, I tell you... unfortunately, it was not productive so we'll have to try again over the weekend.  Blecch.

My eating was okay, but the day would have been perfect if I'd stayed away from the ice cream sandwich, the whipped cream on my smoothie, and the crackers and cheese late in the evening.  Today will be better.  I'm going running!

Ahhhhh, the little things in life that get in the way of a perfect day. Did you make up for it with a run?

Thanks for the (*Y(Y&*)*^(((&* for the parking situation. Either it works out or it doesn't. If it doesn't, it's ok. Between e-bay and Saint Bella I hope it will be alright. Hopefully by the time the City gets their acts together (not holding my breath here) Bella will be on her little feet and I'll just do that.

Always good to have a plan. You go run, I'll make girlie things

Hugs to ya!

Congrat's to Gary on the new truck.   Sounds like a great deal.  Now he can really do some auction shopping.
Bummer on the parking issue.   I keep forgetting that our government always knows what's best for us.  You would think I would have learned that by now.   I hope y'all can get this mess worked out.  This is not the time for local gov't to be putting people out of  work.  By the way, it's not just Little Rock.  Maumelle's city government has done some unbelievealbly stupid things in recent years.   I think most of these stupid things result from "power trips" and certainly not over any concerns about the citizens of the community.   I am sure some are legitimate concerns, but many sure don't seem to be.
Nothing new for me.  Just working through another week.   Happy Thursday to all.

I've done OK with it.  Naturally, I've felt real hungry all the time, and with nearly no carbs, pretty weak at times.  Today is the last day of it, though.   We'll see if it did any good after I go back to eating and see how the body reacts.   Thanks for asking.

Congrats on the new truck. Can I go for a ride? I am also sorry about the parking lot trouble. I will pray with mustard seed faith that this mountain be removed.  My daughter and I will have our 6 month check up on the 17th. I went in today to see my PCP.  He did my labs and I don't know the results however he did my ICA(diabetes) and I got a perfect 5. He was very pleased with my weight loss resuts. He is already talking about documenting skin problems so when the time comes the plastic surgery won't be a problem.

Of course you can have a ride...I just have to get my hands on the thing first ...LOL

Anyway, congratulations on the great ICA numbers.  I'm sure you and your daughter will knock Gibbs' socks off on the 17th!

Take care

Sorry I've been scarce lately.  Kinda stuck in a slump..especially financially.  I went to Dr. Gibbs today and have lost a little bit since my last visit.  He said he was happy with the results..that this process is a 2 year process..so, I'm back...I hope to be able to attend a meeting.  Seems like every time there's a support meeting..1 or more kids have a concert or parent /teacher thing..ugh.  Things are ok...otherwise.  My youngest is in the "i'm ready to be out of highschool phase".  He'll be 18 next Tuesday.  I think we are BOTH ready for him to head to college :) OK..that's all for now..just checking in..happy to see the posts.
