So here I am again....  Almost 2 years after my journey began, I am still pre-op.  I am on my DR. supervised diet for the THIRD time.

My problem is that I am drinking one protein shake as a meal replacement for lunch or dinner.  The Bariatric Advantage shake is too thick, and it seems to get thicker the longer it sets.  I could barely choke it down.  I would hate to see how I would have handled it post-op.

Where in NWA can I get trial sizes of protein shakes?  I am not opposed to ordering online, I just don't know where to look.

If you have a GNC they have protein called Gold Standard.  It mixes the thinnest I've seen, it's just like drinking chocolate milk.  It's good tasting as well. The powder stats are: 120 cals. 3 carbs and 24 grams of whey protein.  I am pre-op diet now, but I mix mine with Dairy Ease which is an added 90 cals and 9g Protein.

I bought some EAS and while it's ok, it's thick and kind of gritty.

Sorry I didn't get to you on this sooner. There are a couple of sites you can go to and order samples on line. One is unjury.com, the other is vitalady.com.  I drink Nectar Fuzzy Navel from Syntrax. It's not thick at all, more like the old fashioned "Tang" drink we used to have a million years ago. They have a number of different flavors, too. If the thick milk shake type turns you off, I'd try this brand.

I think you'll have to look online for samples, as far as I know retailers only sell full sized.

Good luck!
