Hey Everyone!

We've done so well getting the board active, let's not slow down now!  There are LOTS of folks who are new here who want to share your experiences and wow moments with you.

Newbies.....speak up!

Long term folks.....let's hear the truth about living your new life.

So, I'll start ( you honestly didn't think I wouldn't, now did you?)

The big birthday weekend was great. Gary's surprise party went off without a hitch and we all had a great time. Saturday was a work day for me, and boy, did I!  9:00-7:00 p.m. non stop. Yesterday, which was actually Gary's 50th, was all about him. He wanted to go to Oaklawn. So, after a stop at IHOP for breakfast off we went. He had been there, but I hadn't. We trekked up and down stairs, in and out of all the little spots and only spent about $15!  Didn't be on the horses, but did put about $5 into the slots. Enough for me!

Today he's off and we're tearing the spare bedroom apart to make it the official Saint Bella warehouse/office. The computer will be disconnected for a bit, so I'll be offline untl this evening.  Not exactly what I had planned today, but when he's in the mood to do stuff like this I MUST take advantage!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Susan

Wow - you have and will be busy is sounds like!

I am on the tail-end of my blessed 4 day calm-before-the-storm-weekend.  I have LOVED it.  I am feeling so much less anxiety today than I have been the last couple of weeks, so I think it has done me good.  Now I will be jumping back into the fryer tomorrow.  BUT THAT IS TOMORROW!!!!  I still have today to do whatever-the-hell-I-want!

It's back to work for me today - but I am not complaining.  It sure beats the alternative.
Pretty quiet weekend.   Went to Bonefish grill for Valentines Day.  lot's of good options there, especially on the appetizer menu.  plus there is always plenty left to take home.

Didn't get to play golf this weekend, but did get to go to the driving range and hit some balls.  The way I hit 'em made me glad I wasn't playing.  Oh well, it will get better.

Who is ready to schedule a Starbuck's meeting?  Perhaps if we schedule one for a week or two out, we can get more takers.  What do you think?  Interested???

I'm always interested!  Y'all let me know when y'all decide on and I'll try to see if I can make it work in my schedule.

Well, I had a REALLY long weekend, but I am good. Worse things could happen in life to say the least. Friday I got my bathroom painted so I am done painting for awhile. Saturday was a crappy day, but I got my hair done on Saturday! Sunday was a new day and brought some calmness with it.

I'm retaining fluids due to some unexpected events so I am drinking lots of fluids today and I'm hitting the gym tonight. I am going to do some swimming as I've always found that to be such a great workout and a great time to think!

My morning started off with a wonderful call from a collections agency trying to collect on lab work that was coded incorrectly 6 months ago. Thought that was taken care of when the incorrect coding was discovered, but apparently not! Now I get to deal with that crap. Have I ever told anyone how much hospital billing/insurance/etc disgusts me?!

Are you getting in enough salt?  I do better using my fluids when I get in enough salt.  In fact, my PCP even wanted to put me on salt tablets.  (He didn't after I promised to start salting my food.)

OMG I know what you mean about hospital billing - or really medical/insurance billing of ANY kind.  A year or 2 ago, I had a ER visit that they kept billing me for.  The insurance kept denying it because they were billing it under MY SSN as the primary insurance SSN (when the primary is my husband's SSN because he is the primary on the insurance through Kroger).  I called the hospital TWICE to correct this.  The THIRD TIME, almost NINE MONTHS LATER, when I got a collection letter, I took the day off work and PHYSICALLY WENT to the hospital where I received treatment and told them again to correct the SSN.  The person that helped me even showed me in their own comment system where they had recieved my calls and supposedly "corrected" the SSN - but then this same person helping me explained that even though they had COMMENTED that they had received my call and typed in the comment that they had corrected the SSN, they really just resubmitted it exactly the same back to the insurance.  This person promised to correct the SSN and get it rebilled correctly.  It was and the insurance paid it in full.

Another time, with this same hospital I might add, they overcharged me.  I called everyone, even down to the CEO's office, explaining how they were overcharging me.  I was told that the INSURANCE told them how much I owed - that they had nothing to do with it.  I still did not believe that I owed anything, but was forced to pay it anyway or go to collections.  So I paid it.  About 6 months later, the hospital rebilled it (apparently correctly this time) and the insurance paid in full.  I was so boiling mad when I got that refund check that I called the hospital and filed a complaint.  I had TOLD THEM that the balance was incorrect - that I should not owe anything.  But they forced me to part with money I didn't have at the time to keep from going to collections until they piddled around and did their job correctly.

Obviously... I am still mad over this.  LOL

Sounds like the story of my life! One of my girlfriends came over to my cube this morning to see how things were going. I told her about my collections call and she said, "OMG, it's like they target you or something!" I ALWAYS have billing problems. It sounds like I have "paying my bill" problems, but in all honestly I pay my bills when I owe. I think I have more than normal billing problems because I bad mouth that hospital...lol. I'm kidding, I think I have so many billing problems because I actually pay attention, don't have the money to spend on their billing errors and generally know how much I should own before I ever get the bill. I also know when my insurance will and will not pay.

I am always disgusted with the run around I get because I think that my persistence and organization ****ep EVERYTHING and always write down who I talked to, date, time, etc) is generally what gets things fixed. Then I get to thinking about elderly people who may not know how it all works and they probably get bullied into paying bills they may not owe, but don't realize. It irritates me when I can a billing office and tell them how to fix their billing errors, then they argue with me, then I have to call my surgeon's office and have the receptionist call and tell them the same thing as if I'm lying and trying to swindle them out of the money or something. They fix it when she calls. grrrrrrr

Hi everyone!  Sorry I'm  late posting for Monday.  I worked all weekend at my new part-time job and then had to work a double at my full time job on Monday.  I had to work another unit for my second shift and the kids were horrible, lol.  I was so frazzled by the end of the shift, I caught myself wagging my finger at the whole group and telling them "wait until I tell Mr. Jessie how you all acted tonight".  He is their charge nurse and runs their unit.  I laughed to myself all the way home last night.  It reminded me of when the kids were small and were acting out and I would say "wait until your dad gets home", lol.  Sure enough, when I got in to work this morning, the kids were on pins and needles asking me if I was really going to "tell" on them.  These kids come to us with lots of problems and I really feel it's worth it all when you see them start to make progress.  It can drive you crazy but at the same time be really rewarding when you see them start to "bloom" again.  Enough of that.  When I got home the server was down on the site I use to log my meals and I was too tired to wait for it to come back up.  I didn't eat very well yesterday.  Didn't get in all of my calories and was a little short on water too.  I more than made up for it today though.
