Missed you guys while digging and cutting out from our awful ice storm up here in NWA.  The damage is incredible.  we will be cleaning up for a LONG TIME!  Everyone at Chez Platt is fine though, humans and canines alike.

Had my first post-op with Dr. Baker and according to his scales I am down 38 pounds.  Amazing.  It has been a LONG time since I looked at the scale and the number began with a 2!  wow.  Feeling pretty good, can eat meat now, so that helps the energy.  I still have a lot to learn about how to eat, I am often reminded that I am eating too fast.  I know it takes time.

Everyone else OK out there?

Hi Charlie! You're doing great! I don't know where Chez Platt is, but I live in Elkins and we were out of power (and cable!!!) for an entire week. Without a generator all but 3 of those days. It was pretty miserable seeing as how everyone around us had power and Fayetteville was lit up like a Chistmas tree. Getting ready in a bathroom that is about 50 degrees and dark was so much fun!

I still get reminded how to eat if I slip up. I did that last Friday at work and had to go home so I could get my piece of chicken unstuck =)

100 pounds down: 9/19/08 Onederland reached: Sometime during the week of 9/22
Weigh Date: 1/16/09 Height: 5'6" Surgery Date: 2/13/08 Current Weight: 180

Congrats on your weightloss. That is so great!!! I'm in central Arkansas and we didn't get much ice, just enough to close school for one day. My kids were so sad and asked why we didn't buy a house in Northern Arkansas so they could have snow and ice, lol.

Keep up the good work

You are doing really well.  Wait until you get under the 200 mark if you need to go that far.  That will really blow your mind!  We skated by without even losing power.  We're still thanking our lucky stars.

Way to go Charlie!!!!

2 1/2 years out and I still get reminded not to eat too fast, and it's usually the hard way. Toughest of my bad habits to break.

Glad to hear you fared well through the mess. I can't believe there are still folks up there without power. I just don't know what this California girl would do, but don't have the $$ to buy a generator. Hope I never have to find out...lol

Keep up the great work. Check back in more often, we like having guys around.

Susan
