Stomach on fire!!!!!
Ok, I come here begging for answers. My stomach feels like it is on fire all the time lately. Has anyone else experienced this?? It doesnt matter what I eat, after I get done, its worse. Not to mention that everything I eat gives me diarrhea!!! I want to lose weight but not b/c I cant keept the food there. Any suggestions??
I know I may have damaged it from the Alcohol I was consuming, but I wasnt having that much, and I know Wendy Fou panicked over my NSAIDS, could I have damaged it in this short amount of time?? I plan on calling Baker tomorrow, but wondered if anyone had any words of advice.
I also had massive acid reflux the other day, and I havent had it that bad since surgery. Had some small flares, but NOTHING like this.
Im open to answers.

I dont know if you take any kind of acid reducer, but Dr. Roller put me on protonix, and I have'nt had any problems with the acid reflux. You might want to ask for it, if you don't take something already. Hope this helps! Amanda

I tried to call you but there was no answer, couldn't even leave a message. So....take yourself to wally world and get some Prilosec. Take one tonight and then one in the morning (directions say once a day). Yep, I think you might have an ulcer. "They" say we can't have reflux after rny, but I'm here to tell you the medication I take for it costs me $75 a month, so I MUST need to take it! Wouldn't be spending that much money for the fun of it.
As much as you don't want to see Baker right now, might just be time for a call.
Hope the Prilosec does the trick for you!

Dude -- I think we just have gimpy pouches/remnants... I swear, my reflux was so awful I thought I was choking on Drano last night when I woke up. It was HORRIBLE. The only thing I know to do when it's that bad (after I vomit up the bile) is to choke down 6 Tums, drink a glass of milk, and pray. I had issues prior to surgery, and obviously they have not been resolved. I'm thinking we need to grab us some drugs, girl.
I've aspirated acid twice in the last four months or so. I'm sure it's what they made mustard gas out of during WWI!!! I gasped for breath for about 30 minutes, each breath felt like fire. My acid refulx was NEVER this bad before rny, and it's really crappy that I have it this badly now. The medication is so dang expensive, but I'd give up my lattes if I had to to pay for it. So you know how bad that is! lOL

Susan is right on with the Prilosec Otc. Also sleep with the top part of your body elevated from the waist up with pillows or in a recliner. Yes, NSAIDS can do some damage pretty quickly. Sounds like you could be working on a Peptic ulcer. I would definately get it checked out. If you haven't seen any blood in your stool just taking the Prilosec for a while may calm things down.
I have no suggestions because I haven't experienced this.
Susan is right in that they do say RNY cures reflux and for almost everyone it does. But you can't argue with the fact that some still experience it. Thank god I haven't because that was one of my major comorbidities going into RNY - Barrett's Esophagus from years of GERD.
I know it must be miserable. I will always remember how bad my reflux used to be - so I do remember the feeling of what you're going through with the horrible reflux.
Hope it gets better soon.
