So, I've read about the Nectar protein drinks and while getting some regular protein powder at Drug Emporium in LR saw they had their Nectar marked down 1/2 price.  I got 3 flavors, cappicino, Crystal sky and Fuzzy Navel.  They were on for $16.XX each.  I've tried them and liked them so now I am wondering if they are discontinuing to carry them there at Drug Emporium???

If you've bought the Nectar here in the LR area where did you buy it?  I wish I'd bought more, but wasn't sure I'd like them.

OMGosh!  Fuzzy Navel is the ONLY protein drink I've used for all of these years. I only found it at DE about 18 months ago and was thrilled to not pay shipping anymore. You can bet I'll break my piggy bank to go buy a couple of them if they're on sale.

As far as I know (some body help me here if I'm wrong) DE is the only local merchant that carries it. Sure hope it's not being discontinued there. When I go, I'll try to find an employee that might know something. With luck it's only on sale, not discontinued.

Thanks for the heads up.

BTW, how does the Crystal Sky taste? I think I tried a sample right after my surgery in '06 and can't remember. But then, I can't remember what I did yesterday!!!

Forgot to ask ....did you check the expiration dates?

Hey!!

I haven't tried the Crystal Sky just yet.  I will let you know when I do! I just tried the Fuzzy Navel (today is 1st of pre-op diet) and the foam from blending it in a blender had a weird smell so it took away from the over all flavor for me, but I drank it anyway. I will give it another try and just use a shaker rather than using my little blender and see if it's better.

Also, I got the Gold Standard Whey Protein in Rich Chocolate and it doesn't have a strong flavor at all.  I was expecting something nasty, but it was fine.  They have it on sale for $19 at DE as well.

Edited to add that I just checked the expiration dates on the Nectar and they were for 2011.  So, not out of date...  I really like the cappicino flavor and hope they keep the Nectar around at DE. BTW, they were down to about 5 tubs left when I was there the other day so before you make a trip you might call.

I sprinkle just about a third of a individual packet of Crystal Light orange sunrise (or wal-mart) brand to the fuzzy navel. Sparks up the flavor just a bit and kind of helps with the odor. You practically can't get away from the smell of protein....it's just in there.  Oh, I just stir it around with a spoon. If I'm going to add ice cubes or frozen fruit then I'll use my blender.

I stopped by DE yesterday on the way home from work, and I'll be darned -- ALL the Nectar in the store was gone!  Oh well.

I did find some tasty new crackers, though -- they're Blue Mountain Nut-Thins.  MMMM!  The flavor I got was some kind of ranch variety.  They are quite tasty alone or paired with chicken salad as I did for an evening snack yesterday.  They were only $1.50 for a box; I'll be picking up another box or two today!

Yeah, sigh, no Fuzzy Navel for me, either.  Very sad. Should have gone on Sunday when I saw this post, but got lazy.

I've had those crackers, they're crazy good!

See ya Thursday

Awww, I hate that you guys missed the Nectar!!  I would love to have like solid food right now, but I am on my 14-day pre-op liquid diet.  I flew to Chicago today to get my passport since I leave for MX in 12 days.  At least I was able to apply for and get my passport in hand before I flew home this evening. It was so hard to be hungery and around all those food smells but I sought out a GNC and got me a Lean Body premissed drink.  It wasn't half bad either!

nectar foams like crazy if you shake it or blender it, so just stir it.  i think it's pretty good.  i like mixing the lemonade flavor in with all different kinds of things.

i know a good online supplier if it does run out at DE.  just let me know by private mail if you need it.
