I'm back and look what's happened!

Ok, you guys, I take off for a few weeks and what happens?  Everyone take off too!  Come on, you guys can't play without me???LOLLOL

It's been far too quiet here and it worries me. I've been checking in to see what's been going on and too many have left. Tammy hasn't been here for a couple of months, Rhonda is taking a break, Wendy has given up, and frankly, without trying to sound  childish, I'm a little hurt that no one has asked about me not being here. Oh well, whether or not you missed me, I'm back!

So. Let's get to work here. It's time for roll call and an update on what's happening with you. Questions? Bring 'em on. Problems, no problem!  We'll talk through them. Need support, well, so do I, so there!

Today is my son's 25 birthday and we're working lunch in between clients. So this means I'll be at the salon late, but I'll be back this evening.

My challenge to you guys?  To come back and have at LEAST 5 responses to this!!!

You guys have a great day

Susan

Ohh, ohh, me first! Of course, we've missed our fearless leader!!!  See what happens when you turn your back for just one minute?  I'm sooo glad you are back.  I need some setting straight, lol.  Not only are we STILL working on the living room remodel (still don't have all the trim up yet), the guest bathroom is in a  shambles because we decided to carry the new floor into it and then had to pull out the cabinet and sink, and now have to move the plumbing over for the new sink, replace some sheetrock and paint it before we can put down the new floor.  My weight loss has been driving me crazy because I am still not exercising.  I am back to journaling my food and making sure I'm getting in all of my water, and taking all of my supplements but I have not been exercising.  I'm taking a second job to afford to buy the stuff we need to finish up all the renovations so I'll be working the weekends too.  I have been counting my blessings and taking stock of all the wonderful changes in my life the weight loss has enabled me to make and don't understand why I'm still not up off my butt and exercising.  I've found myself back to sitting on the couch in the evening watching tv.  My shoulder has been really giving me fits but that doesn't mean I coulodn't to the stepping exercises on the wii.  ARRgh!

Sybul, I've noticed your eating has been terrific for those days when you posted it!!  That was right on target, girl!

Yep, we all know what we're suposed to do with the exercise thing. Excuses are soooooooooooo easy to come up with. Do what you can. Wii will help!

5 replies on a Saturday? Good luck! I never get on here on the weekends, but I had to respond to Sybul...lol. I have so much house work to be getting done! I'm not sure what everyone's reasons are for leaving, but I do hope Rhonda stays around because I know she is having some WLS related problems(or so I *think* that's what she said). I told her that I think we can all benefit from sharing in her struggle because it happens to so many and may happen to one of us. I don't know if she feels comfortable sharing.

So why is the board dead? There are like 2 new postings a day. We need the lurkers to come out! I've ventured over to some of the other state boards (my home state) and they stay pretty hoppin! I have found that posting my food everyday really does nothing for me, so I stopped. No offense to anyone, it just really doesn't help me at this point! We need some more things to talk about!

I encourage all lurkers to come out and ask questions, introduce yourself, get to know others and feel comfortable. I know that I could ask just about anything on this board and be comfortable because I asked some (what I considered in my head at the time) "stupid" questions. I've never really been blown off. I've had my feelings hurt before, but it wasn't even on this board.

AB is also missing, but little missy got married! She's busy being a wife =)

Ok....I feel stupid!!!!  AB got married?  Wow, did I ever miss that!  God, I feel horrible.

Hope she's a happy girl, she's such a sweetie she deserves all the happiness in the world. If you see/talk to her, give her my best wishes, K?

Well, we got 4 responses, I'll take that as a victory. Now, if we can just keep it up!  There are so many wonderful people here who have so much to offer, I just can't let this board die. Hope I can count on you and the other long timers to help out.

Take care!

hugs

She hasn't been online much since they got serious =)

I think she's happy, I met Bill at support and he's a very nice guy.

I'll do my best to help, but I'm a pretty boring girl. I'll try to think of something entertaining to discuss.

Hi!

It is true that I have given up on keeping the board alive with activity.  But that does not mean I quit the board.  I'm just not going to beat my brains out trying to keep people active anymore (ex. posting daily eating threads that the same 2 - 3 people respond to while everyone else ignores it).

Support groups (including online support) is SOOOO vital to long-term success.  But I can't do it FOR people.  If people don't want to participate, I'm just not going to plead with them to anymore - you know?

But I still lurk and post responses when I feel like it and have time.  I'll also still start topics if there is something I want to say - but it won't be to generate reponses - it will just be to "put something out there", you know?

In any event, I guess I'm response # 3 or 4, I forget.  I missed you posting and glad you're doing it again.

Howdy,

I'm going to start the daily food journal again. Not sure if it will work, but I'll give it a try.

Gotta do a ton of Bella stuff today, so this will be it for me until tommorrow, probably.  Have a great one, Friend!

Hey Susan, I've missed you!

Things here are chugging along.  I'm on week 4 of the couch-to-5K program, which means, yes, I'm jogging FIVE MINUTES at a time without stopping now!  It might be too early to say this yet, but I feel like I'm becoming addicted to running (or whatever one would call this).  We've had a ton of other stress in our family the last few months, but the running and the escape it offers have been a sanity-saver.  I've also noticed that I haven't had to wrestle with a significant weight-loss plateau since I started exercising.

I had my six-month appointment with Dr. Baker last week.  My labs came back perfect, which I was thrilled about.  He was very happy that I've started running and said he would pay my entry fee to the LR Marathon (5K or whatever) next year if I keep it up.  :-)

I hope things are going well for everyone else.  I can't wait to see you all next week!
